You need to be more specific .. tier.. what ships ... with radar or could have been spotter plane.. without specifics your just "Trolling "

Radar can see through- sonar can see through (I think)- magic can see through (2.5km?)- planes can see through... but your AA can shoot through.

For all the lines of ships that have been introduced since this stupid problem originated- basically in the beginning- I'm hoping they fix this uber pronto.

Yeah, they need to fix it.  Make radar ALWAYS ON, and can see the location of all ships on the map.  It just can't see through mountains.  Sounds great!  10/10 fun and engaging

I think it's because radar and sonar basically push the guaranteed detection range out from its normal 2.something km range to whatever their listed range is.  So just like you can normally detect a ship even if it's behind an island when it's within that minimum detection range, the same rules apply when sonar or radar are active.  Not at all how the real things actually work but it's the solution WG got to make them work in-game i guess.

Delete all DDs sounds great too. (^o^;)

Good yea .. this game has some issues , ive run into situations like this before but my replays are third party so I never have them on when it happens .. it could also be a hack I suppose

Same way you deal with dds spamming fire from smoke, either go in and chase them down or leave the area until the consumable is done.

Nah, that's how radar works in this game... Klingon cloaking devices, Federation scanning technology, Ferengi economy

It is OK for smokes and open areas, but when you hiding behind mountains/islands and preparing torps for your target, you are suddenly be found and there is no countermeasure.

ALL your strategies, routes, and plans being destroyed by push a single button whatever they know you are there or not.

So you are still expecting to carry out the ambush after you are spotted? How is it any different than a CA or BB trying to get a cap when a DD plants smoke and starts rapid fire resetting or a DD that appears around an island 3 km away from a BB?

You should always have an exit plan. If radar ships are in the game you should expect things like radar happening. Just like bigger ships should expect torpedoes if they are pushing into tight areas or smoke and fire spam.

The countermeasure in that case is to employ geologic armor, wait out the detection (if they aren't rolling around the corner to you) then move and start again from a different direction.

I think I might have been the Chappy doing that to his team :hide_turtle:

But Chappy's usefulness is limited by the map.

North works, but next to useless on other maps, unless it has CE.

Yeah I'm in favor of critiquing radar to not bypass through islands. Same with spotter planes.
