I was shocked and VERY disappointed when I found out that there is a limit on how many commander (crew) stat points we can have .  19 is simply not enough , I have seen need for 25 and 35 stat points on most ships.   its some thing we love and need is a lot of stat points , you want to improve the game and make it fun ? here is my suggestion :

 

1)  make the current amount of max stat points raised to 40

2)  cut the current progress award of the stat points in half , example , the first stat point comes at 1200,, change that to 600 and so on :) 


 

        the faster progression and more stat points will make this game great, I experanced some of this benefit in a public test long ago and recently with just more stat points allowed in several commander chouces

........that would eliminate the 'biulds' everyone would simply use all the perks all the time... it would further eliminate ship deversity to make all ships having all the skill they could want. i think that they oonly need to give 1 more posisble stat point AT MOST and keep the progression the same, but really im fine with what we have now.

If say 22 should be the new 19. (Effectively a max of 21.) You can abuse the system to take all (the good) L5 and L4 skills when given more than 25 points.

I would like to see one more point added, a level 20 Captain should have 20points.  The OP's idea would break the game though, way to many points.

40 pts would break all considerations of "balance" in the game. It can be raised to about 21 (22 technically), but I think it's fine as is.

yeah, though it would be nice to be able to gather captains points like rain, I think a 21/22 point cap would be a useful adjustment, while not turning newb drivers into seal-clubbing fodder.

My 2 cents thinks maybe 3 or 4 more captain perks, useful ones, but make them much harder to get. Not as hard, obviously as 18 to 19, which in my mind, is pretty impossible, but more realistic. Yes, I do know 19 is deliberately set to make 18 functionally max.

      give us 40 stat points and , cut the progession in 1/4 rather than my proposed 1/2 :)

I have two gripes.  1.  I would like to see 21 or 22 points for the captains.  2.  9,999,999 for the 19th point really?  I would like to see a captain have manual AA and manual secondaries.  I thought the captain skills were to compensate for the upgrade choices in the ship build.  If we can't have more captain skills then give us more upgrades.  And while I am on the subject R and T should ONLY be for repair party and damage control can you fix that please?

I have to agree that 40 pts would be way too much at this point but I love the idea of the 21/22 pts, I think this would actually create more diverse captains. Many ships have Captain setups that are common and create low diversity. I would put a big vote yes for a small point increase.

Maybe +4 or +9 point would be good:) with the restriction you can only have 2 skill at most frome every tier. (and earning them faster :P)

If adding more Captain Skills will encourage Seal Clubbing then a rework of the MM is called for. The MM is taxed enough, the system as it stands is workable. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Those of you who want more never get it.... learn from your past. The top guns of this game have everything they need to beat the crap out of you and anyone who thinks they are gods. Skills from the player are the only thing that needs a boost. Practice Practice Practice   Work with what WG gives you. The balance of the game is designed by the developers to give you the most bang for your buck. Deal With It.

I'd really just be ok with max 20 point captains, not 19...

 

(Then something like Midway can get the stealth, AND the extra fighters in a squadron... Or the Yamato with secondaries, and stealth).

yeah agreed with the "Practice Practice" staff, (fine with 19 point, just 22 would be a little more confortable :P or at least geting the 19th point by earning 1m xp not 10... )

Absolutely not.

 

The whole point of captains is to specialise into certain areas, ie to create an AA build or a secondary build, or a stealth build. If you get 40 points, you can just unlock almost all the captain skills, eliminating any degree of personalization, and removing diversity from both playstyles and players in games. 

 

What is the point of allowing everyone to get concealment expert with ease? It would just be more straightforward to give all ships a stealth-factor buff. The idea of captain skills is to give you the edge over other players in a few specialised areas. No single captain should be able to have all the good skills at the same time.

Somebody needs to rethink the 9,999,999 XP for the 19th captain point it is simply ridiculous.  It is bad enough just getting to Admiral. 294.0000 XP

What Lord Scott says makes sense. It is not worth trying to get, or even achieve a 19th point anyways. At that level 1 point is good for nothing. You need at least three points to get a skill you could use anyways. What I would like to see done is once you reach 18 skill points all XP you earn from that point on goes towards achieving goals for say signals or consumables. For instance every 100,000 XP gets you say 30 signals or consumables. It would keep the desire alive. Just a suggestion.

One or two more points would be okay, even at higher xp requiremetns, but not 9,999,999. Allowing them to be used for something else (like signals) would be nice.

40 skill points would just be too much. I believe that 20 would be a good number since it would allow a captain to get one of every tier of skill and then if they so desire save those 5 other points for a second tier 5 skill or they could distribute them around. Although I think that they would need to something in place to stop those 20 point captains from being able to go seal clubbing
