What are your guys' opinion on teammates who turn around so early in the battle(specialy the BB's)? I certainly find them annoying and it's almost a 100% loss when craplike this happens.

Happens in every public game. "Let's push A" 3 minute later you're the only one next to A. GG.

too that point there is nothing more annoying as a bb player than when you head to a point and everyone swerves.

Well it depends, turn around early might not be a bad thing for readjusting position. What annoys me are teammates who don't understand how to prioritize targets, and this is how people lose most times. Just having few people stay back and shoot don't lose the game that much.

They shouldn't be playing PvP with that wimpy mindset anyway.

Every time I get these cowards--happened earlier in ARP Myoko, my team totally refused to cap anything--I'm very tempted to throw torps at them. And yes, I don't really care about being pink when they cry about getting their paint scratched.

I can only guess that after getting hit by 2 or more ships some players run to stay alive or avoid anymore hits

wth

Not the entire message I typed.

But if unhappy with a player or players report them.

Maybe they like to snipe. They're just turning to reengage at a longer range :P

My first 1000 matches I hated those playstyles.

but then, I learnt to move as a fleet.

Because highscore usually is due to you lasting longer.

Lasting longer means you are with a larger healthpool.

Lasting longer also means besting the mettle of your team and theirs, whoever make the first mistake usually lose that portion of the map. Withdrawing is less of a mistake then over commiting.

not a paid advertisement of Trojan and KyJelly.

Although that's annoying, I find it more annoying when you have the advantage and your cruiser gets an itchy trigger finger and just haaaaaas to peek around the corner where he knows all the enemy BBs are.

Porkening is not wrong but I think he is confusing the issue slightly.  No one really gets upset when players "Tactically" withdraw from a bad situation.  It is when players pull back when they have the advantage; not only giving up the advantage but placing their team mates in bad situations that it becomes a problem.

When I get home I can post a screen shot of a game where an ally talked up pushing and being aggressive, the team agreed.  I rushed to the front (It seems that BBs only push when someone else takes the lead) our DD moved to a flanking position.  I should have known something was amiss when that same player who talked about pushing turned hard to port and forced me to slow down as to not run into him.  He then preceded to flee from the cap and worse two other BBs followed him.  With the expectation that my team mates are moving to cover my port flank and a IJN DD protecting my starboard flank.  I full speed into the cap.  Once the shells start flying I angle and keep pushing.  A quick glance at the mini map shows that instead of supporting the push ie me.  The "Team mates" that turned to port have taken position behind a large island with zero chance of lending any support.  I am taking heavy shelling at this point with fires burning some DD smoke about 4k away.  I sink trying to disengage.  Our DD has pushed beyond any hope of support from the team because they literally abandoned us.  When asked "What happened to pushing?" the response was really "No support".

and there are times when potatoes think it's a good idea to overextend alone and not even realize they're being flanked by a bismarck at 10km, burning them down with it's secondary.

Oh, did I there are NoCals that doesn't know what detection range is and tries to turn away infront of BBs pointing their gun at them?

(and completely ignore my advice, saying GO BOW ON AND REVERSE.)

and those Nocals tell you that you're one who's behind doing nothing, rofl

POS2_zpsykwwijfa.png

Funny how they're all stuck at rank 15 and 14..

names on my **** team is deleted. You don't need to know their names- Im sure you'll recognize those special people in battle quite easily.

(I actually got high caliber and my very first witherer that match. rofl)

I'd say, depends on the ship. Taking tier 6, if it's a Fuso, I'd say well played, those are snipers with weak armour unsuited for brawling; a Warspite doing the same thing would earn my contempt.

My own pet peeve is those who cover right behind you and push around on chat for you to get that Cap. Especially when their armour is an order of resilience above your.

There's always the ones that won't push, regardless of ship type they use.  I've even had DDs like Kageros hiding behind BBs, DDs that get very angry when people ask why they aren't scouting, spotting targets.  So that forces something like a Cruiser to try and get insta-deleted in the process.

The only ones I can understand being very timid to push are Cruisers.  They don't have the DD concealment.  They don't have the BB armor and HP.  And they don't have the ability to repair until the highest of tiers.

Had an interesting game like this recently on Two Brothers. 75% of our team went west to cap that flag (A I think, don't remember which side is which). Meanwhile I went to B with my Scharnhorst, I was accompanied with a Cleveland and I think a Colorado. There was also a YOLO New York.

It went like this - Most of the enemies' battleships were on our side, but we held on. The New York died rushing the cap. But we traded blows with them and dealt heavy damage. Suddenly the Cleveland comments ''wthevery flees A''. Indeed, our massive fleet on the western half of the map had ENTIRELY left the front open, fleeing from a small force of cruisers and I think a destroyer. They were sailing east to rejoin us, but we didn't need help.

So the Cleveland and I turned around to protect the team's undefended back. The two of us utterly massacred the enemy. A Konig decided to go trough the middle, I slaughtered the poor guy. The Cleveland and I had a few kills and assist at that point. Ultimately the Cleveland went on to cap A, I continued trough the strait after roadkilling the Konig....

Meanwhile our entire fleet of potatoes was outnumbering the enemy 2 to 1 yet didn't manage to kill them, afraid to commit as they were. The enemy still had a Texas, a Colorado and a Molotov all in fairly good shape. So I had to attack them from behind after cleaning half the map. I one shotted the Molotov and dealt catastrophic damage to the Colorado. The Texas I think survived due to the match ending.

I gave props to the Cleveland dude. His back probably hurt as much as mine after that! It would have been much easier if our forces pushed west from the start.

Plenty of times I was confronted by 4 BBs or combination of BB/CA and had to angle away or burn in less than 2 minutes.  Plenty of times - the team and I have done fine and won.

It ALL depends on the situation presented and not every player (few) make the perfect decisions.

If i'm in a BB and i'm up there ...and if i turn...then really you should too....because you can only take so much beating before you realize "this is not the direction i should be going"...if i were to turn or go a different direction...that would mean i'm being nailed by at least 3+ other ships at the same time.....only an idiot Capt would stay that course.  but for any other reason besides that...i don't know.  if your BB turns...look at wots in front of them...they may be heading straight in to the course of half the enemy fleet.

The real problem is when people switch sides at the beginning of a round. They waste 3-4 minutes sailing into position while the enemy can advance, cap, and start focusing fire.

There's a difference between a failure to engage and fighting for position. It's not unusual to find myself unable to push up because of the positioning of enemy ships or to have to run for cover just to turn around and reposition myself to provide a good battle advantage.

Poor BB play is failing to take advantage of angling, team proximity, enemy proximity, terrain, and mistakes. If I have to disengage for a minute to do it right, then that's what I'm going to do. I honestly don't think a lot of players can tell the difference.
