It is getting very old WG, just grow up, admit you screwed the pouch and do something to fix it. Like make T5 cruisers only see a max or T6 ships. Or how about make T5 cruisers worth something in a t7 fight, more range and more damage, more fire chance, more life, no citadel, anything, something! But what do I know about fun? Being bottom tier 70+% of the time is bad enough but being the only T5 cruise is a guarantee you will be target number one if you show yourself. But you have no choice under the new credit making rules; you lose money if you stay out of range the whole game. So you move up to engage and die right away because you are the softest target and an easy kill, so all the enemy's shoot you first. I like Cruisers, but WG hates them. The point is something needs to be done to make the mid tiers better(more Fun) for cruisers. but Balance is not WG strong suit. They just don't play cruisers I guess. Agreed the Tier 5 Matchmaking needs to be improved. Not sure I agree about WG hating Cruiser, yea, the current meta isn't very friendly to them and they take a delicate touch. But some of my best games have been in cruisers. One suggestion I will make though is branch out. Play more DDs and BBs, you might find something you like or at least learn something to take back to cruiser gameplay. Since you have no control over this, you just have to make due. Ive had a lot of matches where I was bottom tier but we still won (and no, I didnt hide - though didnt go out front either).When in situations where I find myself outmatched, I try to do my best and not go down without leaving some teethmarks and scratches first. You just need to play a bit more cautiously than you would otherwise. Kite your opponents. Never show your broadside. Keep situational awareness. If you're being shot at too much, it's likely because you're making yourself an easy target. In my Nagato, I would much rather shoot at a broadsiding Myoko than a Furutaka that is constantly maneuvering and hiding her broadside. It's a bit harder to contribute in a tier V BB, but your 14" guns are capable of citadelling almost any ship you meet. Don't try to solo battleships of a higher tier, and it'll be daijobu. It doesn't really matter if you're a New York or a New Mexico or a Colorado, so long as you can land your shots well, you can contribute. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It has the speed, HP pool, and range to do just fine against T7's. Mind you, better than the Konig and NM/Texas, at least. Agreed with OP, T5 cruisers against T7 ships are a joke. You can't expect an average player to enjoy that. You have to be REAL good to stand a chance against an all-T7 line up while sailing a T5 cruiser... This does not in anyway make it enjoyable. I am an average player, or slightly better, but the rate at which T5 crusiers carry a match vs mostly T7 is pretty low, I would guess. So WG can't realistically expect players to enjoy the massively high number of lop sided mm that occurs for t5 cruisers. I did give BBs a serious try 200+ games. Just not my thing. The problem is you have to be at the top of your game to do so. And having to do it for every single game gets very tiring and sucks all the fun out of the ships in tiers 5/6. Tier 5 and tier 6 matchmaking got screwed by the tier 4 changes. There's no argument against it. The evidence is plain as day. I guess nothing cause the devs think it is fine. You forgot to bring your lube, didn't you. ALWAYS pack lube when bringing tier 5 cruisers! I only play in that tier now because I'm working on Konig. The rest sit in port, rusting- doing nothing but take up space. Otherwise, I spend my play time elsewhere. It isn't fun facing nothing but tier 7 CV's DD's and BB's when I sail Texas, either.
