Poll: Which Russian cruiser is your favorite workhorse?

Russian cruisers have been out for a while! Are you guys enjoying them? Do you have one that has become your favorite to-go ship! Vote and tell us why!

 

I personally find Russian cruisers very good at lighting fires with HE and they are generally versatile contributors in fighting against DDs and other cruisers. What do you think?? To facilitate the discussion, here is a summary of battle stats (NA server) from WarshipStats:

I actually sort of kind of agree with you. I like Russia in many ways, but the WG's way of presenting Russian ships, in my opinion, has hurt the overall feeling and fun of this game.

I just don't like paper lines taking precedent over real navies that fought in real battles. Is there a place for the Soviet boats in WoWs? Absolutely. But they should have, in the least, come after those of the Americans, Japanese, British, French, Germans and Italians - the real naval combatants of both world wars. It's made all the worse by the obvious bias shown towards the Russian lines (and the fact that, since they are paper, Wargaming can do whatever they want with the stats of many of the boats), and the sheer deluge of Russian premiums, of which we are about to see YET ANOTHER. Where the hell at the Royal Navy premiums? Where's the first Italian ship? How about more than one French boat?

 

It's just a disgrace, and yes, from my end, at least, it has engendered bad blood.

 

If this was an American company producing this game, you'd never see this kind of shameless nationalism - priority would be given to the big navies first, followed by those of the smaller ones. There wouldn't be some active effort to sate a national ego, because A) we already know we're awesome when it comes to the high seas and have nothing to prove, and B) we're a multinational, multicultural democracy with people who can trace their roots all over the world, and can appreciate other cultures (like me: I'm an American of 75% British ancestry and roughly 25% French Canadian; I'm also an Anglophile. Go Britain). 

 

We don't have to fake a navy to take part in a naval game; we don't have to take the lead role in everything to appreciate it. Sadly, it's not true for everyone.

Budyonny, Shchors, Chapayev have all been a joy (Murmansk I consider an American ship really,)

I really enjoy the Murmansk, has the best rudder shift of any Cruiser so it turns quickly to avoid those BB shells, can shoot Almost 18k with the spotter plane and once you figure out the trick do it accuratly as long as certain parameters are met

Definite learning curve to play as its fradgile but after 1600 games in it still my favorite

Also have the Kutuzof, but dont enjoy it as much maybe because the higher tiers are to BB heavy at the moment

Valid points. Even though I don't think American companies are necessarily less nationalistic (think EA), I do find the Russian navy in this game too different from the actual Russian navy during the era.

Is Molotov that good?! Is the ship very OP? Can you please elaborate??

 

I kind of feel that my wallet is in danger again. I don't have the Molotov yet, although I heard that he is a smelly guy and the Finnish people really hate him.

I voted Molotov even though i hardly play it....

 

Haven't particularly cared for Budyonny/Schors/Chapayev thus far but am looking forward to Dmitri Donskoi and getting back to those heavy cruiser guns.
