Most viable option for Tier 6 BBs in upcoming ranked season

I have available to me the New Mexico and the Bayern at Tier 6.  Since the ranked season begins at Tier 6, what is the most viable BB choice?  I'm somewhat limited here, and I am leaning towards the Bayern, but any suggestions help.

New mexico has smaller, more numerous guns. with imo better dispersion. Bayern has few, bigger guns, but lacks dispersion. Bayern has a almost citadel proof armor design, while the new mexico can angle fairly well. I personally hate the bayern though. So I would say New Mexico

Fuso is better than both imo also.

I'm going with the Bayern. My best captain is my german 14 (almost 15) point captain, plan to move him back to my Bismark once I finish League 4

My current captain is a 16-point Secondary spec'd captain in the Bismarck, I could easily transfer him over and pay the DBs for retraining... Bayern with a 16 point captain, thoughts?

Arizona's also got a very durable citadel.  Maybe not so much as the Bayern, but it's deep and covered in a "turtleback" as well.  Bayern and Warspite can pen her bow, but she can face-tank Fusos and New Mexicos with impunity.  She's also pretty good at ending DD suicide runs.  Accurate guns and lots of them mean that you can delete most DDs mid-charge, if you hold your fire and wait for them to swing sideways.

Now then, out of the two you suggested?  New Mex is going to be a bit more viable at medium to long ranges, and passable up close.  She's the jack of all trades, falling between the Fuso's snipiness and the Bayern's brawliness.  If the "hide behind smoke and snipe from range" meta holds up, then the New Mex is going to be superior, owing to its better dispersion and additional guns.  If things get up close and personal, the edge goes to the Bayern, with its larger guns and excellent secondary armament.

Thats my plan, the captain in my Bayern is really my Bismark captain secondary spec. I switched him to the Bayern to retrain for free before ranked starts, have my Bayern as spec'd for secondaries as possible to play it as a brawler then switch back to the Bismark with DBs

I'd say all the T6 bbs are a good choice, depending upon preference and play style.  They are all good.  NM has the AA advantage, Fuso the sheer shot weight advantage, Bayern is kind of a lower grade hybrid like all the German bbs see to be.  NM also has concealment, Bayern has great secondaries, 7.6km maxed out, Fuso is faster than NM.  But really, all three bbs can be worked to their max potential.  If anything, though NM used to be my go to, its very restrictive slow speed may lean me toward Fuso, since I sold Bayern especially.  Essentially though, pick what you like cause they're all good competent ships.

...not to omit the AZ, which I now regret not having purchased, though it's fairly poor AA would seem somewhat of a handicap.

Personally the current Ranked meta is that the dds usually dominates the pace of a game.

Therefore I would recommend Fuso>New Mex>Warspite>Bayern, I don't have Arizona nor Dunkerque so can't comment on them.

You really need that sheer number of shells and the accuracy to counter dds whenever you have the chance. And consistant alpha output to the cruisers and the bbs.

Fuso have the highest HE damage and the best speed, and she has the reload to back her up. Her dispersion tends to go horizontal than vertical which makes firing very comfortable.

New Mex is slower, but she don't need as much angle-wiggle like the Fuso that slows the ship down. The ergonimics of New Mex is slightly better.

Warspite have less sound armor than Bayern, yet you do it right in Warspite you still wouldn't take that large chunk damage, and she has the best heal among all T6 bbs. Her superior mid-long range penetration also gives her an edge than the Bayern.

Bayern is designed to close range manfight other battleships, yet in ranked I doubt you shall get that much chance for that. Her dispersion is, well, mediocre at best, and her penetration feels very questionable. Her HE damage is inferior too.

I don't have Dunk yet I have a very good feeling about her. Good armor coverage area for more predictable damage taken while angled, speed to keep up with the cruisers, nice reload and shell velocity and a good rudder shift time in response to torpedo attack.

If destroyers dominate ranked, than Dunkerque could be quite good.

Imo, she's the best DD killer at tier 6. It could be just me, but the gins feel more accurate when firing HE, and overall the fact all the guns are relatively concentrated on one area of the ship, namely the bow, and the fact they rotate quickly, means they are very good at taking down DDs. Your secondaries aren't awful either, plus you're fast and manoeuvrable foe dodging torps.

Compared to the other BBs, you're the fastest, and you can pretty much bounce and shells from NM or Fuso with your bow. Bayern and Warspite can overmatch you though.

Oh, and she's got the lol35% fire chance HE shells
