Apologies if this was already asked, but the search feature is failing miserably.

So I understand Signals.  You can mount up to 8 of them on a ship.  They each give some benefit.  Each battle with a mounted signal uses it up.  Got it.  But when I try to find information about "Flags" all I can find is information about Signals (or "signal flags").  I've figured out that they are permanent.  But I'd love to understand the details.  Can anyone point me to where I can find some useful information about "flags"?

Thanks!

There was something in the wiki, but I can't find it now. Basically, you can mount one flag, most are decorative only. A few have in game bonus like signals but if you didn't get it during the even you can't get it.

Flags are mostly cosmetic. You can only mount one at a time. They have no bearing on the effectiveness of your ships, with some exceptions:

the Military Month Contributor flag that was released in May gives a couple 5% bonuses to XP and commander XP etc.

the Ranked league flags give progressive reductions in repair cost (5%, 10%, 20%) the higher league you obtain.

It should also be noted that the ranked league flags are only available while the ranked season is going. Once the ranked season has ended, these flags disappear.

We Alphas get get a special Alpha Test flag that gives 5% XP and commander XP.

But because we can only fly one flag at a time, i'm bummed that i can't add any other cosmetic flag. Although I did hear at one point that WG is considering the possibility of adding in the function to fly multiple flags at once.

You can only mount 1 flag at a time, some are specific to a vessel, (i.e. Dunkerque, Scharnhorst etc.)  the Military Month contribution flag is the only one that I think gives value, (5% to Commander XP, crecdits and XP earned in battle).  The flags that you earn in Ranked have value also.

I like seeing the guys that fly the Russian flag you got with Krasny Crap "deluxe" package on another nations ship. Laughed when I saw it the other night on a German BB.

There have been several threads out there about having the option to mount more than one flag on a ship, especially with the large amount of cosmetic flags added to the client.  Basically the pull is for there to be two slots....one for a functional flag (ie: Alpha/Beta flag, Military Contributor flag) and one for a cosmetic flag (ie: Prinz Eugen flag, Burning Man flag, etc).

The devs have said they are giving this some consideration, so we'll see what happens.

Flags are just for show and to commemorate special people or events (Beta or alpha testers). However, some flags (like this seasons ranked flag) give small buffs
