I was put in a tier 5 match in my geneisenau where i proceeded to "Outplay" tier 5s by being 2 tiers higher, i felt that wasnt quite fair for them. not sure if i should be happy i got a kraken but i definitely dont feel like ive earned it.

You can thanks WG's protection of the lower tiers for the 5-7 imbalance. 5's see 60-70% games in tier 7 now.

Piss poor planning, but they don't seem interested in the issue at the moment. One dev stated that it was a "minor issue"....:teethhappy:

Unintentionally i would have to say yes, the fact the geneis has torps made it a wash versus so many new yorks

It happens its bad though when you get tier 7 cv's

in a game with tier 5 boats.

i completely rekt a konigberg with torps from a saipan

it felt amazing to wipe his HP but i do feel his pain.

I play tier 5-6-7 extensively. I'm actually surprised when I get a top tier battle in 5-6 these days.

Most of the ships I run can at least survive a - two tier difference, if I'm very careful. But I'm certainly not going to carry a game or make a huge difference unless the potatoes are out of control.

They need to just go 1 tier all the way, and quit creating more problems than they solve.....Unlikely to happen though. :sceptic:

It happens. I have seen so many that are all tier 5 except 2 tier 7 bb or 1 bb and 1 DD. It can make some ships op because their offensive capabilities. I have noticed that mm is better for CAs in this regard. Luckily no tier 7 CVs yet

indeed. the only ship with AA at T5 is like the Texas and it's limited to self defense.

Even then a T7 CV could power through it without issue

I have noticed that if you division 3 T5 ships MM seems to do a better job of filling the match with T5s and T6s. I divisioned in Konig thrice today and two matches top ship was one T7, and the others were T5-6. The third was T4-5 in which top BB was NY. That last match we divved a NY, Konig, and Gremy....

How about  T4/5 match I just had earlier,8 kills.Mind you for the first 5 minutes until I started plinking them it looked like the enemy had the upper hand.I definitely don't claim to be good, this was luck and some already half dead targets. Only time I ever got anywhere near this was taking out Bots with a Hermelin!

Well, when you are the alpha dog, you gotta be the alpha dog.  A top tier player is expected to carry to a certain extent.  Looks like your team's T7 carried well.  The other team's T7, not so well.

When I'm a T5 in a match like this, I position to do as much damage as I can hoping my T7s can carry their weight.  Win some.  Lose some.

I'm surprised at the lack of dds. or is that just how t5 goes these days? Plus it looks like NY fest.  Of all the BB's to face you got the luck of the draw.
