What I mean is if I know im gonna die and I see torps headed for someone who may be carrying the team ill try to prevent there demise if im close by. Find out we are 1.5 vs 3 with no help incoming. The smart play would have been to disengage. But instead I chose to honor my teammates imminent half health death and push in instead. We kill off one and then I use my last remaining sliver of health to ram a half health bb. We end up winning that flank. And the game. Though we woulda won regardless if I had chosen to engage. 255 [ARRGG] Mechanicum Beta Testers 1,320 posts 7,422 battles Report post #4 Posted September 28, 2016 I did something similar today.Map was "Fault Line", and there were two DDs capping C (a Hatsu and a Nicholas).I was in a Kirov, backed by two Myoko types.The DDs were smoked.Whoever went in to dig them out was probably going to die, but I was in the Tier 5 with a Hydro, and my team mates were tier 7.Damn the torpedoes, FULL SPEED AHEAD!Yeah, my Kirov got blown out from under me, but we killed the two DDs.Too bad I didn't get much reward for it though. Several times, while on lowish health I have taken a full salvo of torpedoes to protect a BB- or a salvo of shells to protect a DD. Every single time they have betrayed my actions and done something UNIMAGINABLY stupid to get themselves killed under 30 seconds after the fact anyways. I have since stopped doing so because I know 99% of the time the guy I will save is a complete moron who will do less with his entire healthbar than I can with 1/100th of mine. Took the torps and bombs for my Myogi, who was having a good game anyways. He ended up with a kraken, and I got a boatload of torps. Not sorry at all. 172 [O_O] Shinnidan Members 1,090 posts 15,609 battles Report post #12 Posted September 28, 2016 (edited) Yes. i have...i forgot his name but...it went like this...it was two day ago. i (in the Cleveland) and another BB & CA was on the SE of the map and he was way up in the NW with most of the fleet. we took care of our side and mopped up. but they were still fighting in the NW...everyone DIED but this one last Cleveland was beeing chased but 2 Byran. he called out an "SOS"...his health fading fast. i told him to circle the islands and stick with it...i'm glad he listened to me...directing him where to turn...with intention that it would bring those too BB to us. since i was the fastest and closest one, i came in sight of them first...being chased by the two BBs. hes said, "I'm dead!" only 1k hp left. then made my last instructions to him make a u-turn around that island and head back NW. sure enough those BB followed him. him through another narrow path. which was good cause their eyes were off me. firing HE shot to nip at their HP a bit...brought my ship around the island to intercept the lead BB. Know i had half my HP left and the cleveland has no torps, and i cant stand toe to toe with that BB. so, i turned my ship in to the lane ...and with head on to the BB. and with epic movie fashion...before i hit, my last msg was "Farewell...Salutes". Boom!! BB and i exploded. that other Cleveland lived and was in the Clear with less than 500 hp left. well, he would have lived if he didn't try to re engage that 2nd BB!! lol he said..."i'm going to try to do the same...you inspired me.." lol he died before he got close...but we won cause the remaining two ships took out that last BB. cant recall his name....it was Mess-something-something. lol Edited September 28, 2016 by Shinnidan Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

172 [O_O] Shinnidan Members 1,090 posts 15,609 battles Report post #14 Posted September 28, 2016 also, was in my Atlanta riding shot gun with BB group to AA support. several DDs was in range and fired multiple torp our way...the Colorado i was screening for didn't see that mess off torps coming his way... and kept on going straight. so i turned my ship full broadside into the pat of the torps saving My BB for being eliminated in the first several min of the game. don't remember winning that match up.....i kind took it as i did my job...protected my BBs.....lol Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Drew three enemy BBs and two cruisers and two DDs over to the west side of the map, along with two teammates, a BB and a DD. Sunk the two cruisers and banged up the three BBs with a lttle help from my friends, who sank a DD and banged up the BBs and cruisers as well. They couldn't cap A while I was alive hugging the west edge but in a BB that slow I ran out of space to dodge DD torpedoes. The rest of the team carried the east side, capped B and C, and we won the game on points down two ships on the other team. Teamwork pays. Always. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Rammed me directly amidships while I was stationary, waiting for someone to come around the corner. I hadn't been spotted, the torps were not meant for me. I was displeased. One was a Destroyer, while the other was a friendly Fuso. Torpedoes were coming in and I went right in front of it, thus my teammates survived. Both who played key roles in the game. In matches where I was badly out-tiered, I stuck with CVs and helped them out vs planes, and later into the match, vs DDs. I have eaten DD torpedoes a few times to save a CV and buy them enough time to escape. A few other times I have saved DDs as a battleship; I offer to push, and only request the DDs use my distraction to either take a cap or blindside an enemy.
