In this video, just like my last one on the New Mexico I talk about the tips and tactics I use in the Colorado. For some reason, like the Pepsicola Players just dont seem to like her. Hopeful these tips will help improve you game play with her and youll at least enjoy your time before moving on up the line.

How to play the Colorado: Apply face to enemy.  Repeat until all enemies are sunk.

The Colorado is a very forgiving ship.  The only thing that drives me nuts about her is dat USN standard speed of 21 knots.  I kept getting tier 9 games in her yesterday.  The BBs on my team left me in the dust and the enemy BBs could close on me with ease.  At tier 9, the Colorado is food.

I found that at tier 9 the colorado was not considered a threat and mostly I get left alone, at least until the end of the battle when there are fewer targets to shoot at.

The main issue with the Colorado is the fact that it gets wrecked through the bow by 16" guns from players that know what they are doing. Other than that, great ship!

I try and over angle when i see the muzzle flashes so i only take pens.

Great ship, can't wait to get to the NC thought.

I try never to play straight bow on. like the scharnhorst I want enemies to shoot my angled belt.

the rudder shift on this ship is perfect for that too.

I was in a few games where my team pushed one side and the enemy pushed the other.  As the enemy wrapped around the map, they gained on me and ate me up since I was so far behind the main push.  Trying to keep up with friendly Iowas is not what a fat girl like the Colorado is meant to do.

If it was topping out even at ~25 kts, it'd be OP as hell.

Never cared much for Trolorado myself when I was grinding her this time last year, but I do agree with you on the Pepsicola; maybe if she was instead called the Coca-Cola, than people would like her.  Seriously though, I find the Pensacola to be a superb ship if played like a BB that hits like a trains freight car loaded with trucks who are in turn loaded down with bricks.

Edit: When I get the credits, I may buy back Trolorado just to see how she fares after all her buffs.

Last night I citadeled a Colorado from the bow with my Gneisenau. Oh lady luck shone her light to my shotguns and actually killed it. But that was about it, I wasnt expecting 2 Colorados, a Cleveland and an Ognevoi, torped both Colorados, killed one, killed the Cleveland and the remaining Colorado sunk me.

She is a dangerous ship.

pepsi was great. have a how to vid on that too. I think that to many people fall into the trap with this ship of seeing the plotting room mod and the scout plane and trying to sit back at 23km and snipe. this ship isnt meant to do that. you have to get close to your prey with it and hit them hard.

Pwnsacola is by far the best tier 7 cruiser when played to her strengths. She has excellent handling, exceptional guns/ballistics and great firing arcs. Couple with the fact that has more amour than a Shchors and Yorck, a good Pensa captain can help carry a game, especially with how often you overpen her thin hull. Those guns can punch even thru a Nagatos armour (if weakened a bit) and citadel it with some luck.

What does the Colorado do that matters... that's at all better than Nagato? Same guns, but Nagato's are better. Armor difference is marginal provided you  don't expose a Nagato flank. Nagato's faster. More HP.

The Nagato is allot softer than the Colorado, if I angle a Colorado at 45 degrees the citadel is pretty much safe, I can't say that for the Nagato. I have to play the Nagato completely different because it can't take 16" shells very well at all, but the guns are fantastic though. Also after this CV happy weekend I was reminded why I loved the Colorado, that AA build just creates fountains of salty tears

I have to admit - I stopped the USN BB line when I got the Colo.  Not sure why but I hit up the IJN BB line and when I fizzling out on it I went  back to the Colo for a change.  With in a couple games I was doing more damage than in the Fuso.  Not as gratifying to see how few projectiles she has when compared to the Fuso but boy do they hit a lot harder.

I am hot or cold in it - either doing 30K or 80K+.  I think she is the only ship I have done over 100K+ damage but might have had a game or 2 in the Fuso that did that.  Got my second Kraken ever in the Colo...  Like her enough - I think I will keep her around in my limited slots...

I have my Pepsi-Cola decked out to her strengths with boost to her AA effectiveness and I tend to play her like I play my BB's; bow in and at a slight angle. I was amazed when going bow in I was able to shrug off the shells of a Colorado which was amusing beyond relief.

the Colorado has a far better Runner shift time than the Nagato and as a result it tends to be able to torpedo beads and maneuver much better in a brawling  situation. The ability to stay angled against an enemy turn quickly get all your guns to Bear fire on them penetrate their back or their Citadel and turn back so your angled against them before they can get their shots or their shots going to laugh at you is what makes this ship so good. The reason that I think she is good is because of that and the reason I think a lot of people think she's bad is because they simply don't know that's how you have to play.
