Serious question: is intentional inaction a reportable offence?

Just had this wonderful gem in my Tirpitz game. As we loaded in, a person who upset about MM (I guess?) wrote the following:

awg7HQY.jpg

Sure enough, the entire game he just chilled by our Haku:

l7bo0lm.jpg

9NS59Ow.jpg

I mentioned in chat that he basically announced the intent to troll at the start of the game, which seems like a bad idea. His reply:

tc35NbV.jpg

So, here is my question. He didn't straight up AFK, but he intentionally contributed nothing to the team effort after announcing that he will do just so. Is this reportable? What do you think? Should I submit a ticket with a replay? Ideally, I'd also like a comment from someone at WG.

PS We ended up winning that match anyway :)

There are rules are against passive play, so I guess it depends on whether it fits. (gimme a few to find the actual paragraph)

Also, ninja'd.

edit:

4.07. Using bots, clickers, macros, keyboard and mouse recorders, or any other similar methods to accumulate credits and experience without the participation or with passive participation of the player within the battle (excessive and repetitive passive play).

I think your case might fall in a grey area, but it's up to the GMs to decide.

4.07: Excessive and Repetitive Passive Play

Okay, thank you. I will submit the ticket along with screenshots and a replay.

Please,  I escorted the carrier just like I said I would.

I provided the CV with a smokescreen when a Kagero attacked, then attacked the Kagero dealing 5k damage.

I did a further 9k damage and sank a Lo Yang attacking our CV later on, and also provided the CV with a smokescreen.

Nice of you to leave that out, eh?

I did exactly what I said I would.

I notice the team score screen was conspicuous in it's absence in the OP, well, here it is:

NxYejGh.jpg

Edit: In the second screenshot Vakhnenko presents, you'll notice that there is the silhouette of a dead DD above and slightly to the left of the Shimakaze (aka, me) that's being pointed out with the red arrow.

That dead DD was an enemy Kagero, which I contributed 5k damage to the sinking of (roughly 1/3 of it's HP), and also broke it's LoS from it to our CV, which, as you can see from the minimap, was stuck in the map edge, preventing the Kagero from shooting the CV.

I'm not qualified to answer this. But man, that guy is a rather horrid potato.

Also doesn't being t10 pretty much guarantee being top tier, like, always? :P

On the level of helping vs actively hurting, it's honestly neither, since the threat of an MIA Shimakaze is much more than the threat of a dead person.

Please note that I did nothing to indicate the identity of the player in the first post, but issm decided to admit his fault voluntarily.

Yes, a sole surviving enemy Lo Yang happened to ran into you at the very end of the match. You killed him, though I honestly thought you might just AFK and die to him. I guess you felt at least a bit ashamed? Other than that, you did nothing. I've got the replay to prove it.

It is a bit funny to see how terrified the anti CV troll is of CVs, picked the safest possible place on the map to not contribute.

Hmm, in the end he did do something, so regardless of whether it was poor play or not (which isn't actionable), I very much doubt he can be hit for passive play.

And?

I fail to meet any reasonable definition of "passive play".

I absolutely could have done more to help the team, and deliberately chose not to - but there is no rule that says I have to try me best and play to win every match.

I've read the rules; there is not a single one my actions violates.

Also, regardless when I sank the Lo Yang, the Lo Yang was attacking, and had enough time to sink the CV. I said I would defend the CV, and that is exactly what I did.

I don't even know why you keep playing, seeing as all you do is grief your team and troll the forums..

Because you know the rules and know how to manipulate them.

No, you're just behaving like a child throwing a tantrum. It's not a violation of anything, it's just dumb.

if he wanted to escort the carrier fine, that isnt against the rules. Thats like saying if I want to escort a BB that is sniping is against the rules. He protected your aicraft carrier, which btw, a Hakura is a Massive bonus to have all game. I would say he did fine.

Edit. Adding to my statement. The carrier he protected was their best player. So he protected and allowed the carrier to massacre the enemy. I fail to see a huge problem here.

I have no real opinion other than this isn't the first time I've read a thread like this about the same person. Kind of just have to brace for impact with that situation unless action is deemed necessary by a moderator, because as you can read it will happen again.

And? I don't care.

Also, I'm just going to point out how utterly retarded the phrase "child throwing a tantrum" is.

All a "tantrum" is is an individual being uncooperative in protest of something. You know what else falls under such a definition? Literally every equality and independence movement ever.

The only thing that separates a child's "tantrum" from the War of Independance (how's that for a tantrum, the colonies didn't like English rule so they threw a little tantrum that killed a few thousand people) is who is protesting what.

When I read the OP, all I thought was "gotta be Issm", then it's actually true lol.

Don't think you can hit him with anything on that...

pathetic excuse. What I would like to say would violate every rule on the forum but would be the right thing none the less.

Now now, I don't want to see another insult here and I definitely don't want to see this getting overheated. Just call it a night, no need to get all worked up.

What is this, some kind of Spanish Inquisition? (You know how to reply to this :hiding:)

Just learn the rules like issm has, you can still break the rules without breaking the rules.

Excuse? No excuse. I'm certainly being a inconsiderate dbag by doing that, but what I am not doing is violating any rules, however much you wish I were.

Breaking the rules without breaking the rules is the path to success. See Wall Street, and basically every successful person who's ever existed,
