My recent solo struggles have become surreal; I can only assume there's some black magic involved.  Whoever has put a hex on me, please, have mercy.

 

 

I rarely blame my teams for my losses, because I believe there's always something that I could have done better to help win the game.  But these past two days, and even the past week, have just been unreal.  How often do I need to be put on a team that is down 4 ships in the first 4 minutes?  How often does my Scharnhorst need to see the same early-morning, full-division Taiho win-rate padding division that is the only division on either team?  Have I just forgotten how to play this game?

 

 

It doesn't feel like it, but I'm out of answers.  Even when I drop down for some low-tier fun to break the cursed streak, it's not working out.  I just want to grind out these last 3 points on my new Freddy commander so that I can keep my Bismarck ready for Ranked, but despite the awesome Dragon flags, I'd appreciate winning a game now and then also.  I'd hate to squander 7 of my 34 remaining premium days (unsure if I'm going to bother renewing, with clan/team stuff nowhere on the horizon), but at this point I think I need to stop chasing losses and just take a break for a week.  More football and The Blade Itself, less banging my head against my desk playing Warships.

 

Maybe talking about the curse is enough to lift it?  We'll see.

There's been something funny going on this whole week, not even just the weekend.  Surreal is a good way to put it, I've seen teams go down in ways that just boggle the mind.  I've had my worst-in-my-WoWS-career losing streak this week.

 

I'm seeing a lot of good players with terrible w/r or WTR in their stats sigs for the most recent battles, so it's gotta be something with the potato soup.

I got rid of this St. Petersburg port and went back to ol' reliable Black Sea.  That should do it.

Lol, you guys insist its not the MM and the teams?  Yeah, it is.  WG has come out and said their MM is rigged to keep you at 50%.  Its not unlike WoT, you will notice very distinct patterns.  You will go a week and your record will be: 15W/4L.  You sit back thinking, aww crap, yeah, I am good at this game. 

 

Then, for the next week, suddenly its like wth!?  As you commence to go 2W/17L.  Then, the 3rd week you get an avg mix of about 8W/6L, the 4th week you get another avg run of like 7W/7L.  So, after a month long stint your ending record is: 32W/34L.  So, you can be assured, for the next week, it will be another 12/2 week, and its like aww hell yeah.  THen the trend continues.  Ultimately, you end up right around 48-52%.

No, they haven't, in fact they've said the opposite.  My solo win rate was above 63% over 2000+ games until this absurd stretch hit me.  As frustrating as it is, I'm bound to hit a bad stretch at some point if I play that many games.

 

I believe slightly more in superstitious nonsense like switching back to a lucky port than I do in some dastardly Russian screwing with my MM for some unexplained reason.  Perhaps joking about it on the forums and taking a small break is enough to kick this black cloud off of my head.

meh, it happens to all of us.   sometimes its certain ships.  sometimes, its certain time.     I really stopped caring about day to day WR as long as I do my best and have decent stat.       I really only care about the trending anyway.

I quit playing this weekend on Sat night, and pretty much quit playing Solo. Everything from maps to CVs is designed by WG to produce collapses, and in collapses (1) you don't do any damage (2) you can't really affect the outcome (3) chat toxicity goes off the charts as the dead ship captains hang around and blame you for still being alive. 

 

So seldom anymore that you get into a game that goes down to the wire and is won by solid play.
