My vote for the official religion for WoWS is the old Norse faith. You know, Vikings, Odin, Thor, etc?

Face it, we're all on a ship, we're all very angry (if chat and the forum are to be believed) and there's talk about a reprehensible action that starts with an R and ends in 'ape' in almost every game that isn't a close, even match.

So, hail Odin!

Odin! Guide our ships! Our axes, spears ands words! Guide us through storms that whip! And in brutal war!

I believe in 460mm armour-piercing shells and the Type 93 'Long Lance' torpedo.

There is no Light but that which shines from the EMPEROR OF MANKIND, that the HE, from HIS, Golden Throne shines into the darkest corners of the galaxy that we, his children, may go forth and conquer HIS name, spread HIS truth, and PROCLAIM HIS GLORY. You are all HERETICS. Prepare yourselves to face the EMPEROR'S JUDGEMENT.

It is the 21st Century. For more than a year The Gamers have sat immobile on their Office Chairs and Couches. They are the Masters of Their Warships by the will of WG, masters of ships in the thousands by the might of their inexhaustible will and desire to stay awake; fortified with caffinated beverages and other things perhaps best left undescribed. Though they struggle mightily by skill and by WASD, they inevitably become a rotting digital carcass sinking into the sea, accompanied by the gnashing of teeth, salty wailing, and destruction of keyboards. Yet it is the will of WG, to whom a thousand and more monetary units are sacrificed every day, that each player may never truly die.

Thanks to this deathless state, the Players continue their eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the torpedus-infested miasma of the Sea, the only route between distant caps, their way lit by the Mini-Map, the digital manifestation of the contents of the map and of spotting ranges. Navies vast, and sometimes small, give battle in the name of their win rate.

Greatest amongst the players are the Super-Unicums, the players for whom shell-beats are as easy as torpedo beats; their shells fly true, their torpedus are flawless, and to challenge their aircraft squadrons is to flail in vain.

The comrades in arms of the unicums are legion: the lesser numbers of better players, and the countless average players, using mighty battleship, swift cruiser, far-striking carrier, and nimble destroyer. In all their multitudes, they struggle to hold off the ever-present threat from shells, bombs, torpedoes - and worse... fire, flooding, and the pernicious Co-op Bot.

To be a player in such times is to be one amongst untold thousands. It is to live in a cruel digital world. These are the tales of those these times. Forget work, forget rest, so much has been forgotten, never to be dealt with in the heat of gameplay. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim digital sea there is only war.

There is peace for now amongst the players, but anxiety as well; as some worry that the way of the tank, may ultimately become the way of the ship...

Never listen to someone who's special move is slowly turning left while relying on faceless minions inability to shoot straight.
