My internet service is owned by the state and thus, it's superfast and never goes down, oh wait you live in the US evil laugh. Because we are such #1. But in reality, the amount of mergers and acquisitions they allowed major providers to make has been insane. There are few options unless you live in a major area and even then they are pricey for incredibly bad uploads. Charter, for example, offers 100 down and ...5 up. That's for $65 a month on internet alone. Sure, you can stream off of that. But it has time points where nodes are overloaded via businesses having the same options so your speeds are lower in the day and better at night. It just sucks. They're beginning to offer gigabit fibre in parts of San Francisco. $40 a month (plus taxes for included land line).
