A Different Way for High Tier PvP?

From what I've gathered, it seems WG has backed off the BB bow armor changes for high tier BB's, as a method of "uncamping" high tier gameplay. But that still leaves us with the camping/sniping meta at high tiers. And I'm supposing WG will be casting about for other solutions.

Perhaps there are - not in buffs/nerfs to the ships themselves - but in changing the way that high tier PvP modes are structured.

I just watched Jingles video on the new "Global Operations" PvP mode for that "other" tank game. It does present some interesting ideas, and seems to have solved the issue of high tier camping in PvP modes in that game. Link below for those that wish to check it out.


 

Perhaps there's some ideas here that could be incorporated in WoWS to kickstart high tier gameplay again. One idea that occurs to me - perhaps a game mode along this line, just for Tier 8 thru 10, as a motivation for players to actually try high tier ships and gameplay - someone recently commented that one of WoWS's problems was that there was no endgame once you reached Tier 10 - maybe something along the lines of this could be a form of high tier endgame.

That's a great Idea! Too bad according the the WG custom they don't usually, um, learn from lesser, puny, pitiful, inferior companies lol

Jokes aside, great idea. Yet I'm pretty sure this is gonna make the game somewhat harder for cruisers since, well, average bb storm troopers suddenly started to push lol

Well we live in an age when secondary gunners are no longer drunk...

Let's be honest, if they are willing to push closer, they might as well hit somethin XD

That other tank game is effectively dead. Queues take 3-5 minutes just to gather people for a PvE mission. Longer for PvP. I don't know why WG would even consider anything it does.

The skill based MM in PvP pretty much killed it. I liked the PvE mode though.

I have it in my head that the main problems caused by higher tier camping, is because a majority of IJN and USN BBs at T8+ are designed to be played exactly the same.

If that many ships play exactly the same, then it only stands to reason that the one with the best guns fares the best, which is Yamato, obviously.

 

The KM line is entirely different and rewards getting in close and using everything, unlike Yamato that is played bow-on.

I think it is only reasonable to ask the USN T8+ BBs be changed dramatically in play style, so they don't have to compete with Yamato for bow-on.

USN T8+ BBs ought to excel at agility and medium range that allows them to WASD more easily.

just because it doesn't have anywhere near the population (which really surprises me cause it really does a lot of good things mechanics wise) doesn't mean that WG should ignore any possibility of adding in similar features, especially if they are good features

I watched the youtube Retnav posted, and it was quite interesting.  I'm not sure how I feel about unlimited respawns, and yet I have to give that other game credit for coming up with what looks like an interesting idea.  That said, I'm not sure if it's something that would be better suited to WoT than WoWS, simply due to the differing natures of land/tank warfare vs naval warfare.
