Tier 9 Economy, Not even sure what I'm doing

Here are two different games at tier 9, Fletcher and Udaloi, played under patch 0.5.11. After looking at the result screens I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing to break even in costs.

I've always assumed that base captures and big damage numbers would net me more xp and silver but looking at these results there must be something else coming into play. I wish I had screen captured the damage report screen of both matches as that could provide some more information but I don't think anything special in one match over the other.

Credits  for damage is like XP for damage. It doesn't matter how much you do but who you do it too. For instance you'll make more XP and credits for doing 80% of the damage to a destroyer then if you did the equal damage total, will say 18000, to a battleship.

So the real trick especially in the Fletcher and the udoloi to go look for higher value targets and do damage to things like Cruisers destroyers and aircraft carriers or do more damage to battleships. Caping helps too but youll need to do a lot of it.

in that video I do a lot of damage to DDs as well as cap and do more damage to cruisers and battleships

Your place on your team, what it is you're shooting, and the tier of what you're hitting also comes into play.

Without seeing what exactly what you were doing in the matches or at least what you damaged I can't say much else about you specifically.

I'm aware of this fact. But in these two matches I mostly fought cruisers and battleships. I don't remember engaging a destroyer much less sinking one in the Fletcher game. But the Udaloi game I fought 2 destroyers.

You netted 52000 silver and 2000 XP in the first one and -3500 silver and 5600 XP in the second.  Combined, that is better than 48K of silver and 7600XP.

You are doing better than breaking even.  You're ahead, and that's a standard account.

Bottom Line:  You play well enough to sustain a T9 standard account.  Congratulations!

as was stated by user above without knowing who you hit and how much damage you did specifically to each person it is hard to tell why you weren't more credits and one battle for lower damage than the other. But I suspect that in your higher damage battle you cause more damage to things like battleships then you did to other targets such as Cruisers or Destroyers. It could also come down to the percentage of damage you did in comparison to the total HP pool of the enemy team as well

Thanks. I do ok with my high tier ships and have even turned a profit at tier 10. My problem is a lack of information when it comes to what you do in game and how that translates into how much you get paid. It would be nice if when you checked your result screens it told you that X amount of credits came from damaging this ship, Y amount of credits from capture points or cap defense points and so on. I already understand as a destroyer the more torpedoes I fire the more money I'm spending, why can't we have a more detailed record of what we are earning and how?

Maybe if we had this information people wouldn't cry about about the economy because they could be shown how to improve their game play to insure they break even.

Russian CAs and DDs have nerfed credit and XP rates to compensate for how much damage they can do - it's expected of them to.  It's been that way since they released.

I actually stand sort of corrected: the DDs had their rates nerfed after release.  Some CAs - notably Budyonny and Kirov - had their credit and XP rates further nerfed after they were found to be performing well.  I guess WG decided the carrier approach was sufficient balancing, which, in some ways, I think it is.  The Russian lines are thoroughbred damage-dealers, it's natural that their credit/XP rewards for damage would be lower.  The fact that they routinely take massive hits and die only reinforces that.

Funny how nobody bats an eye when a Russian ship is nerfed...:sceptic:

I haven't seen anything official in years, but in WoT people used to be able to datatmine credit  and experience  modifiers attached to each tank, one would assume the same with ships,

Would be great to see the numbers.
