I have been reading the forums about upper tier gameplay/economy and it really makes me feel like I want to stay in the lower tiers. I am having fun there and when I do go for a PvP match in one of my 6s or 7s I find that it is just not fun. Heck even in Coop mode when I took my Saipan out for a test fight, it got sunk and it cost me 80K! First time it ever cost me credits that I remembered and was quite a shock. Why not give high tier players the opportunity to earn doubloons for playing? Does not have to be large amounts, a doubloon to play tier 9 or 10, more if you are at the top of the heap. Maybe doubloons for Krakens or the like. It would take hundreds or a thousand games to be able to actually buy a ship, hell it would take 60 games just to be able to buy a port slot! I would imagine that upper tier players would use the trickle of doubloons to exchange for credits and Wargaming would not be out anything at all. I was thrilled to earn ONE doubloon for some event last month even though many complained. If it were an ongoing thing I bet it would be more appreciated and give upper tier players another reason to play or those of us in the lower tiers a REASON (besides getting cool ships that we won't be able to afford to play) to advance. I spend money on the game because I am having fun, upper tier play does not look to me to be fun at all so guess what, I won't spend money there.

Or you know- instead of something that would for sure break the economy and never get implemented because doubloons = income for them...

The cost of replacing my North Carolina in my first high tier battle with a BB was enough for me.  I'm not playing high tier till the repair costs come way way down and the reward makes it worth my while.  Till then my North Carolina is just a part of my collection.

Is why I suggested small amounts of doubloons. Even at the worst purchase option we are talking 5 cents a doubloon. I forget how many credits could be purchased per doubloon but BELIEVE it is around 100, I could be wrong on this. What is the COST to Wargaming to not have a happy player base at upper tiers that is not growing? What is the cost to Wargaming of having player like me who just are not interested in getting to upper tier play (or buying upper tier premium ships)? Lets just say WG gives one doubloon for each player on the winning team of a Tier 10 match. Assuming that is the only money given out, after 1000 games the tier 10 player could buy the USS Smith (tier 2 DD), or 3 port slots, or redo their captains skills a time or two. This is a pittance, hell consider it a business expense and it can be written off (assuming US tax code) or advertising. The costs to Wargaming for not maintaining a happy, growing, player base could the slow death of this bit of their company. I seriously doubt this small thing would break the economy of the game. I think what may happen is that upper tier players may play more games with higher tier ships, the player ranks at mid tier would drop as there would be no need to farm credits there, lower tier players would have more fun fighting players of more equal skill, and would be more likely to want to advance to upper tiers. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

BTW I think they need to have an arena where upper tier ships can fight one on one for no costs, no rewards just so they have a chance to have a bit of fun. Heck make it all tiers, have always wanted to take my Smith against the Yamato, I think I could beat it!
