Implementing submarines the Silent Hunter 5 or NavyField way a good idea?

If Wargaming can implement Submarines in the right way, I reckon implementing it along the style of Silent Hunter 5 or even NavyField would not be a bad idea.

 

This is how submarines performed in NavyField:

Not counting how many times WG has said it won't ever happen, no.

This is a game based on fleet action, where even the CVs are close to the fighting.

Subs have no place here, and would simply be a pain for anyone playing in them or against them. They're slow, vunverable, and the game has no way to support them... underwater isn't modeled.

 

That being said, prepare for impact. You're about to get a LOT of hate... god luck m8

Dunno if it was confirmed but someone snipped some stuff from a Russian dev interview allegedly.. So dont be so suprised if your popcorn goes stale in your mouths...

And community feedback to the addition of submarines in NavyField was infamously negative. The player population literally plummeted days after the release of submarines in the game.

Yup, killed the game outright. WG has clearly seen that.

 

Only way they are coming in-game for an extended period of time, and not a weekend event, is as AI controlled bots. As others have pointed out, a TON of stuff would need to be overhauled to even support it.

Probably, but still, maybe maybe not. I actually kind of want this to stay surface ship-orientated

What do submarines bring to the table that you dont already get with IJN DDs?

All my crews are elite with vet exceed 250 missing after server merged and no compensation so i'm here in WOWs.

 

In NF battleship can goes up to around 47kts(Super Yamato) it's still hard to dodge the incoming torpedoes from sub because sub always point-blank fire.

 

In WOWs a battleship is a lot worse in agility than in NF now its most likely they will face a point-blank torpedoes from sub just like NF

 

I'm pretty sure it will be a huge depopulation for battleship class.

 

What do submarines bring to the table that you dont already get with IJN DDs? 

 

Ninja point-blank torpedoes. and those incoming torpedoes armed right next to your ship, something like that.

If we take a realistic look at this. Subs cannot take it from depth charges, shells, torpedo and everything nice without sinking or at least being unable to go underwater. How would you implement this ingame.

The same with unlimited torpedoes, magical HE shells and it's fire.

DDs are countered by every other ship when spotted.  Submarines however are completely immune to BB and CA attacks.  Only DD, CL and perhaps properly equipped carriers could hurt them.
