WG is not responsible for any of the mods. If Wg need to fix or update the game, then so be it. We just have to deal with it :(

What the point? Well.....to have a fully working bug free game and new game content every 3 weeks(not counting for bug fixes patches)

Fewer updates but are larger downloads when they drop and we get people complaining about how long it takes to download.

Frequent small updates at regular periods and people complain about too many updates.

Can't please everyone I guess. Personally I'm fine with frequent small updates as bugs get fixed faster and we get small bits of content to play with.

If the devs could come up with contour icons for the player panels that were actually useful, I wouldn't need to use someone else's.

I cheer inside every time your mods don't work.

I question why you care about mods that change almost nothing but aesthetics that only that person can see...

Except mods often drive WG to improve on certain aspects of the game...mods are not a negative scene to the game and most are just cosmetic for that individual player (skins).

Don't believe me...look at the new changes coming to WOT...

Fully working, bug free game? When did that ever happen? :amazed:

Ask all the players who lost scoring on good matches yesterday how bug free the game is...:teethhappy:

I believe you, and I have no problem with mods that don't give it's user any type of advantage. However what some people call 'minor visual changes' I consider to be shameless cheats. Smoke circles for instance, shell colors too. These are not for making the game prettier, they're to provide an advantage to the user. Even if the advantage provided is insignificant (which these examples are not) I feel it's very wrong to use them.

Since I think some mods are cheats, yet they are allowed and people justify themselves in using them when my opinion is that it's unjust; I am happy when they stop working.

So yes you're right, many mods are included later on, but does WG add these to the game later on because they're so great or are they feel obligated to give it to everyone to balance the field again?

I suspect the latter.

Smoke circles and shell colors are built into the game now...How would you consider those cheating? :amazed:

Solution: Stop using mods. The game is just fine as it is.

If it was, why are people using mods? To get something the game can't offer them yet. People like anime content and anime voices in-game? Let them use it with mods.

Of course I don't consider them cheats any longer now that everyone has those features. But they're not mods now either are they? Way to twist it my friend. You've made a name for yourself a long time ago already on these forums.

Then what is this?

EDIT:

I wrote a summary about Aslains mod some time ago, here is it:

EDIT 2:

Somehow the spoiler couldn't be opened, so second try:

- different ship icons in the stats (like that improves gameplay)

- different crosshairs (anyone with a bit knowledge could make himself an own crosshair)

- allows the camera to zoom out more (so your ship appears smaller)

- different healthbars for other ships

- different comander icons (you can have little ponys as commander. Isn't that just kawaii?)

- other sound for Torp alert (imperial alarm you know)

- a mod which will turn the ship bars in the port golden if they are prem

- different minimaps which are just differently coloured

- more ports (not to confuse with port slots)

- historical flags

- different loading screens while you wait in the queue

- different login videos

- different shell tracers (game already provides us with different HE and AP shells so also no advantage)

- hide the fire effects (not the consequences though. Damage will stay the same)

- being able to move your speed indicator

- different ship icons (also kawaii anime stuff)

- sound mods (again anime)

- compass looks a bit different

- deactivate the chat

- different achievement icons

- Other borders so you see them better (mine are red. Also no advantage out of that)

- different ship skins (like the ARP ships - they look fancy but have no real effect. Also you are the only one who sees them)

- fps limiter for your client

- expanded Tech Tree (you can't buy other ships though)

- transparent minimap

- Training Room

- session stats

- fog remover (yet you won't see anything)

- Correct ship names (Kongō rather than Kongo)

- no black/white at ships you don'T have

- enable replays

- different layout mods

frequent updates stop cheat mods. in fact theres less of them being offered compared to a yr ago.

and some of the ones being offered are pay to use now. because the author has to spend an even larger chunk of their time to update them.

Both were available to everyone all along, they merely required an extra step (mod install) to use. Your claim that the difference between "cheat" and "not a cheat" boils down to half a dozen mouse clicks is about as silly as it gets.

Honestly, what we consider to be an unfair mod is irrelevant as it only matters what WG considers unfair.
