Honestly, not happy with my stats as they are right now...I feel like I'm doing well, but as WST shows, I'm clearly not...it looks to me like though I have immense fun with my USN gunboats, I'm not very good in them...I appear to be doing well with the IJN DD's, which worries me given their supposed upcoming nerfs should said nerfs stand through to implementation...cruisers are just awful for me...I don't have the patience to sit at the back and pour out long-range fire, so I get close-in and just melt away...battleships, I'm awesome in the likes of the Nassau and Kaiser, not much to judge on Konig as it's stock except for the FCS and I've only played 2 games in it...I keep trying to go at the IJN CV's but just cannot play the Tenryuu for the love of me and I'm pretty much set on just waiting to completely skip through Kawachi and Myogi to Zuiho with free xp...

I'm not exactly sure what I can do to improve here, and oddly enough if you take a look at my stats my WTR is worse in a division than it is solo...so I come with this post for advice on how I can improve my stats and gameplay for the better...

It appears to me, in the IJN DD's, your doing low damage but definitely helping your team win. I feel you must be lighting targets, and capping, and doing a good job of both.

Your gunboat play is hit or miss. Course I suck in them too. I will tell you, until you get lower tier gunboat play down, I'd stay out of the Blys.

With 249 battles, your doing pretty dang well. Took me a thousand to get fifty percent. Im horrible at it.

Find a line your comfortable with and work the heck out of it. Dont get baited by the dailies and play all your ships, it will sink your winrate, for me anyway.

It seems like you're doing fine.  The numbers should improve if you play more games.

As for how you can improve:

Your survival is kind of low.  Try to stay alive longer.

I think the real problem is that you're not sinking enough ships.  Particularly on ships with guns.  You have to find ways to hit your targets hard with guns.  Either keep them on fire or citadel them when a ship presents a broadside.

This basically means that you should play more cruisers.  I know that you don't like them, but your gunnery skills aren't there yet and you could benefit from fast firing guns that teach you about aim that have enough punch to citadel other ships from a good distance.

The quickest survival trick that you can learn with a cruiser is to get skinny.  Instead of trying to bring all of your guns to bear, keep only the front guns or rear guns on the target.  You're not trying to bounce shots.  Instead, by presenting a narrower profile and fishtailing back and forth, battleships have a harder time hitting you as their shots will most likely splash on either side of your ship.

I would put playing your Blysawica on hold until you work your way up to tier 7 with regular ships. It's a fine ship, but you're better off at lower tiers for now.

When you play a cruiser, you need to use more finesse. You can't blindly charge ahead; you'll be quickly focused on and sunk. As I like to say, "Q: What do you call a cruiser on point?  A: Sunk."

I am no great player but like you I wanted to start pulling my stats up. I will credit Little White Mouse's forum entry for some good suggestions. While I did not quite do what she suggested regarding playing only one ship, but I did do a variant. I play one class - DDs, and I start with IJN (5 ships), then the USN (3 ships), then my Blys, and if I have any play left then the Russians (2 ships). That way I play the tactics for that line multiple times. I also am spending time on youtube watching tactic posts - particularly for DDs but working on mindsets for all classes of ships. Finally, I am spending time on memorizing the stats of the ships I am sailing.  Before a battle I review my ships stats, particularly detection ranges. My play is getting better.

Hope this was useful both for information and moral. Good hunting.

I did that for awhile, then I discovered that I could "customize" the mini-map to do it for me.  Later, I discovered that there is a mod that will tell everyone else's weapon information on the team panels.  Now I don't have to remember as much, just which ship I'm in.

Have you seen iChase's informative videos on youtube? ATSF is also good for a little more advanced gameplay vids.

When I first started playing I immediately branched out to the USN CA, BB, DD types and then quickly added all three IJN types.  This was not a good plan.   I would highly recommend that you have a primary focus of one country/type (USN DD or IJN DD) and then have a second objective that is either the same type (because there are lots of similarities across all DDs or CAs or BBs) or the same country (because then if you get a premium you can train all your captains on one premium ship).  The reason I suggest you have a backup is that when your ship is sunk you don't have to wait for that battle to end and we all need a certain amount of variety.  I was surprised how much my BB play improved when I really began to focus on IJN DDs, simply because I became a better student of the game.
