Zao Missing Conning Tower?

Thanks to the helpful replies of my other thread I've started looking around the armor viewer some more & 1 thing stuck out at me, the Zao doesn't have a conning tower displayed.

 

A conning tower is that heavily armored portion of most cruiser & all battleship superstructures. I know she's a paper ship but even the other paper ships have conning towers including the Ibuki before her, I'm curious is to why this is.

 

For the record this is not a buff Zao thread just an inconsistency I've spotted.

 

Random notes: Now I know what makes her tanky, sloped citadel armor low in the waterline.

Just to clarify a bit, on teh 0.5.2. armor model, there is an portion of the bridge armored with 203mm of armor. The rest of the conning tower is lightly armored.

For what it may be worth, I noticed the same thing with an upgraded Bayern.  The stock hull shows an armored conning tower, but the upgraded hull does not.  Rather strange, as it seems unlikely that they would remove the armored conning tower on a BB, even in a major refit.

Ah that might be one of the fixes that was mentioned.

From what've we seen so far, the new armor viewer seems to omit entire portions of armor from display, so take with a grain of salt. At the moment, I trust the old 0.5.2 datamines more for a complete picture.

Check out the Lexington's armor. One side has the torpedo belt modeled, but less citadel armor than there should be. The other side has the proper amount of citadel armor, but no bulge modeled.

I looked at it earlier today, the citadel armor is indeed there for both sides but the part with the bigger torpedo bulge hides the citadel armor behind it. You need a bird's eye view to hover your mouse behind it to expose the citadel armor. (deck must be turned off)
