IJN Destroyers: The fate of camo and captains in the new lineup?

I've just been through the forums reviewing your thoughts on the very intriguing introduction of a new Japanese destroyer line and, like all of you, I have a few unanswered questions that I hope War Gaming speaks up about soon.

  1. What will happen with existing ships (and their commanders, paid-for modules and camouflages)?
  2. When will this happen?

I've got FUBUKI with a permanent camo worth 3,000 doubloons that's about to get knocked down two full tiers (T8 to T6) and a HATSUHARU with a permanent camo worth 3,000 doubloons that's about to get knocked down one full tier (T7 to T6).  Nothing I've found in the forums asks these questions or addresses these concerns, so to War Gaming, I must ask:  What's going to happen with 6,000 doubloons worth of camouflages when the two ships get stripped of their combined 3 tiers?

Outside of these questions, I wish to point out that I'm in fact excited about the expansion of the IJN destroyer line.  I am confident that the game's authors are going to add greater depth and feel to the game for us to enjoy and I'm looking forward to that.  I just want to know in advance "when" and "how" this is going to be actually handled.  From what I can tell in the forums, so do the other players!

They've done many times, in WoT, so this isnt a case.

In those threads, I recalled someone say something about how they deal with splitting the line, you could use the forum search function to get there.

I think that this perma-camo issue is something that they're still thinking about, which is probably why nothing official (that I know of) has been released on it yet.  For the time being, if someone has been thinking about buying perma-camo for an IJN DD, they may want to wait until after this all becomes official.  Of course, if you've already bought the perma-camo, you're committed and will just have to wait and see what WG decides to do.  GL with that.

I'm probably just stupid, but searching forums is quite a hassle, especially when we don't know what keywords to search. My guess is the Hatsuharu and Fubuki premium camos will probably be removed as they're thrown back to lower tiers, and the Akatsuki and Yugumo will recieve camos of the same value and effect. Its the most logical thing they could do, imo, considering they'd have to credit us with a Yugumo if we currently own Fubuki, and likewise with others. It would just be a mess if they forced us to grind and pay even more.

Oh, they know. There are some choice words just about every language has to describe people who commit to doing something without knowing how they will do it.

They just don't want to announce it before the changes are coded and irreversable. That would only leave people alot more time to stew rather than being left to wonder.

Also, I think we won't see this happen for at least two months, as Ranked is about to begin again and will last at least a month. If they did the change right before or during Ranked, they would be open to justified claims of undercutting the players of IJN DDs in a competition.

So, there is no point in their revealing information they have two months or more before it can have any beneficial result for WG.

I have been posting this everywhere the subject comes up in hopes that WG pays attention:

"Don't shuffle the branch, make a side branch with the new ships... Moving the fubuki to 6 is a nerf to the fubuki, and why I would want to be refunded my 3k gold (even the 1 million credits for the upgrade module) back if they do this as I bought the premium paint for it and now they are nerfing the ship. It will lose 10% (from 5.5 to 6.1) concealment making it not OP, but UP... slow ship, slow guns... paid real money, so I have a real issue."

I DO NOT WANT the paint MOVED to a ship I have no idea if I will connect with. My suggestion is not to move the ships at and make a side branch with the new ships, that would be best for all.  The only other solution that will not be protested, is to refund the gold and silver. then I can apply the gold and silver to other ships, new or otherwise. However, in the future I know I will never purchase items that I feel can be taken away like this.

they are getting rid of most of 10+km range torps,   so they want to offset it by giving it better guns.  :D  I use 10km version on fubuki anyway, but still kinda sucks since they are adding more radar.   nerfing minekaze and isokaze a bit by slower torps as well.   have to protect them seals  .

I also think there should be free commander skill reset for ships affected.

Why does WG want every IJN DD to play like a USN or USSR DD?

Hmm... dont think too many folks would take their IJN DDs to ranked... they'd get stomped, for the most part of it.
