Try out premium ships before buy.

Hey guys,

 

So I was thinking about buying the Smith, and I had this thought that it would be cool if we could try out a premium ship for one battle before buying to get a feel for it. Kinda like trying on a shirt before buying, I want to know if it fits before throwing money at it. Not saying what we have now does not work, but i think this would be an added benefit. I bet it would also increase the sales of prem ships, once people try them and see how pro they are.

A single battle rarely well represent how a ship perform anyways. There's always that fluke 200k dmg kraken game, or detonation right at the start. etc. etc.

 

Maybe restricted to a few co-op, or training room when it go public.

Not always possible.  And PT doesn't exist for players to test drive premium ships anyways.

It might be nice if it was possible to rent a premium ship at a reasonable rental price, and play a handful of co-op battles in it.

With the way WoT does rentals, they have a special mission to complete to unlock a specific tank for a week or two.  And when that happens, you may see a third of the teams be filled with that tank.  You also see players that are still tier 4- start running around tier 8 premiums.

 

WoWs may be able to do this but I would recommend only in Co-op mod.

I agree, any form of ship rentals should be co-op only.

It would definitely have to be a Co-Op only, maybe three battles.  I agree you really wouldn't know whether you like it or not after just one battle.  Three you would have a little better idea as to whether you want to spend the money on it or not.

Missions to unlock a rental ship would be a great idea just for variety sake. If WoT does it already, seems like a reasonable request. My first few days of playing the game, I purchased the 3 Russian ships because they were on sale. I love them, great fun to play but after learning more about the game realized since I was going to stick only with the US ship line (bit on the nationalistic side)  and they did me little good. I am having such a great time with US ships that I really have no interest in starting a Russian line. Rentals would be a great way to introduce different nation's ships to people like me who would not normally play ships of different nations.

And that's a great thing cause we have a PvE mode and tanks does not! So we could limit those tryouts to PvE with no problem!

BTW Cyphixia, if you are interested in the Smith, it is really fun. Hardly a powerhouse or awesome killing machine, but all sorts of fun to play. I just got it and am enjoying it quite a bit. If you are looking for a premium to level up DD captains with, well probably not the best premium DD available. Have heard great things about the Sims (if you are just looking for USA ships).

I definitely like this, but only for Co-Op only.  It lets people try out ships without affecting other people's games.
