iTunes works for me. You can convert their format to mp3 with any of the thousands of conversion tools out there.

Another (more dubious) option is to download from YouTube directly as mp3 (tons of online tools do it).

I just side step all of it and use Spotify.

Most of the music in the world for free. If you want  to go mobile with it then you can subscribe.

I use Ummyvid for downloading YouTube as MP3s, used it for awhile now. Free and offers MP4 Dls, or just the audio from the video. (I just use it on Lyrics versions of songs)

Yooo hoooooo yoooo hoooo go visit youtube-mp3.... a pirates life for me..............

But in all seriousness, I'd never approve of pirating music protected by copyright. Stuff that IS NOT however- fair game.

The thread title has a very 1998-ish feel to it. Back when, if you were lucky, you could download an entire album in a week over your 28.8 modem.

Once I hit high scool we would download songs at school and span them with WinZip across a few floppies.

Saved up my paper route money and bought my first flash drive to make it easier. 128mb capacity, pretty much the biggest they made then. Cost me $120.

Nowadays I just get music off youtube using a chrome extension to rip the audio to mp3.

I typically just download songs that aren't available elsewhere from Youtube and convert it to MP3.  If it's a song that exists in payment form though, I bought it.  Even if it's tempting to do otherwise with such a tight budget, I attempt to get things legitimately.

Good thing most of my favorite songs video game OSTs...:hiding:
