The Kiev is a true gem at tier 7 and those torpedoes though lacking in range, pack a punch in an ambush. 

My only problem with the Kiev is for several months MM only gives me potatoes teams facing Tier 8s and 9s. Which has negatively effected my Kiev's win rate.

Kiev is so much fun. She's one of my two keepers from the VMF DD line (other being, of course, Khab)

 

Tashkent was rough, although I think I'd do better in her now, and I was mostly just focused on powergrinding through her since it was during the fast track to Khabarovsk event and I was trying t get to Udaloi while it was discounted. Udaloi was ridiculously fun, and would have been a keeper if I didn't already have Fletcher as a t9 keeper. And Khabarovsk...Khab is your payback for every bad thing that's ever happened to you in WoWS.

 

Heck, I did well in Ognevoi and would have kept her, except she lost turrets constantly and with that 2x2 turret setup I got tired of getting my firepower cut in half (or in one memorable game, losing both turrets for good and having no gunpower for ten minutes. Just kept trying to cap and hoping I'd get an ambush opportunity with torps.)

Well, no. Something with high-velocity guns (e.g. a Molotov) can make you rue the day you were born.

 

Anything with slowish shells is prey though.
