Just saw the 5.11 notes. They are giving Takao to testers! Meaning there is going to be a mission eventually for Takao!

 

 

Black Swan, Weymouth, Caledon, Danae, Emerald, Leander, Fiji, Edinburgh, Neptune, Minotaur, and Belfast UK cruisers, as well as special warships ARP Takao and Leningrad.

The Atago has premium camo.

ARP ships are given skin, but cannot mount even temporary camo for XP, detection, or dispersion.

WG could also do silly things like nerf the torpedoes, limit number of flags, or cut down on the installed upgrade options.

We're talking about giving away a free tier 8 ship.  I would imagine there will be many who try and fail...

Maybe limit damage/kills/fires/planes to tier 7 and above.

I had a momentary vision of Iona launching a Graviton Cannon burst while Gunzou yelled:  "Ryuu ga waga teki wo kurau!"  And then Iona turned the graviton beams into dragons and deleted the entire team from spawn.

 

More seriously though, I'd guess the Repair Party could be omitted from ARP Takao, if she's going to resemble an eventual line Takao rather than Atago.  That would sufficiently "nerf" her for regular line duties.  Though, she'd probably have faster torpedo reloads in exchange, while everything else was left the same.  Alternatively ARP Takao could be Atago, just without any Premium benefits aside from free captain reassignment.

I want Takao just for collection purposes because she is my favorite character from the anime so I hope they don't make you do some crazy, difficult mission, eyes bleeding tears, mission to earn her.  I already have the Atago so I will never play her.  I also want Haruna to come back as I was taking a break from playing and missed her when she was offered.  The rest I don't care about though I did manage to earn the current offerings.
