Preparing for the IJN DD Line Change - what are you doing?

Some folks have suggested we hurry up any grinds we may possibly achieve before the DD line hits live. I would like to know if everyone thinks that's a good idea. I'd also like to know what you folks might be doing to prepare for the live drop.

I'm probably not going to get higher than Minekaze in time so I'm just waiting for Akatsuki for 100% ladylike torpedoes

I'm about a quarter of the way through Kagero, so I don't see any harm in putting some time on the ship. As for the captain, I'm withholding from putting on the 17th point until I get an idea of whether I should invest the point or respec completely.

Doing nothing.

 

I have many IJN DDs in port, all the way from Umnikaze to Shimakaze. Playing them regularly and awaiting more information. My only concern is Fubuki being demoted, as it is one of my fav ships in game. We'll see.

I'm waiting to see if sale on DDs this weekend, in which case I'll buy Minekaze and grind her. Never bothered after I won a Kamikaze-R, so I'm only through Isokaze.

I'm going to finish Yamato by the end of this coming weekend, then divert my attention to taking the DD line as high as I can get.

Playing my Gearing while my Shim rots in port. I just don't see any reason to take the Shim out over a Gearing on Domination mode maps at the moment. And at Tier 10, almost all games are Domination mode.

What I'm wondering is should we be buying and holding ships like the Hatsu and others? Folks think (it seems) if you have one in port when the patch hits, you'll keep it plus get the new ship that takes its place. So I'm wondering about this - because it would sure save on the grind.

I'm pretty pissed at this line change.  I got Mutsu so I could have a T6 ship in order to grind out things like the Ashigara where you can only get it with a T6 or better.

I hope they provide enough to allow me to go buy another T6 DD, though I don't think that will happen.

Nothing special. I have the whole line in port and 5 16+ pt captains.

 

Have been challenging myself to make F3 work with Kagero. Not looking good so far. Derp more (way more) times than I want.

 

Also training Hatsuharu captain. In Hatsuharu. Ya. I am hard core.

I'm currently playing Hatsuharu and hoping I can keep her (or at least the XP I earn on her) after the change so I can have a head start on the Shiratsuyu and Akizuki when the update happens.

My guess is the XP and commander will stay with the tier, not the ship.

 I am just not motivated to get to t10 on any line.    I will get to kebab eventually though   my next is bismarck and may be the new ijn t9 DD.  (depending on how new kagero compares)  I need to sell some of my ships that I am not running and clean up my port.  I just don't enjoy playing most of the cruisers that I have now.

debating whether I wanna just burn XP and get into Zekamashi before it hits to avoid the confusion, but as it is I may just finish the short grind to Kagero and just go from there when the new line hits

Finish the grind on my Fubuki captain to get him to 15 points, apart from that nothing I have the whole line with 15 point captains in Kag, Shim & Minekaze.

Well most of you guys are sitting pretty compared to me... I did crack 100k xp on the way to Kagero so I have less than oh, 50K to go... fifty to sixty matches in the Fubuki should do it. 

 

I'll probably then buy the Kagero (which I have taken to pronouncing like kakarat(sp) from DBZ call the kak-gu-roh. Without knowing the costs of the new ships coming, I don't know if buying any of them is worth it. If they have a sale this weekend, it would be worth buying whatever was getting replaced, if you don't have it.

yugumo looks like decent upgrade to kagero with good gun.    kagero didn't see much change from current version yet but placed at t8 without mod3. slightly higher rof.  have to see if t9 is on sale though.

I've already finished the IJN DD grind, and without more info it's just not possible to safely predict which ship to buy/keep/sell/grind etc.

 

What I do know is that there will be a need for more high skill point captains. My efforts will be going into that for the time being.
