German dreads' armor question

Why are German dreads' thickest armor of 350mm is on casemate section instead of the belt? Just curious.

I'd say it's that way because there is no "Belt" section for which to show it on? :)

In all seriousness, I think it is best placed in the "casemate" section for clarity sake.  It shows the belt quite well while the "hull" option shows the torpedo bulges.  The USN suffers from the exact opposite problem.  Rather than listing the belt on the casemate section in the armor viewer it is on the hull section and is covered by the torpedo bulges.  The only way to view it is to disable everything except the hull armor and look at it from the "backside" (as in down through the superstructure of the ship looking at the opposite side).  I much prefer the way it is displayed on the German BB's to the way you are proposing, just for ease of viewing where the belt actually is.

The way I proposed? Like from my Soviet/Russian BB thread?

Well, then. I assume the 350mm thickness is co-planar with the casemate section, whilst the 290mm or 295mm is the actual belt thickness. Cause I wonder why this displayed while some sources labelled the max. belt thickness was 350mm on Kaiser to Bayern.
