Will somebody please explain to me what the odds are that you are on a 12 man team each match with different skill level players each match that you can possibly lose 10 games in a row without it being some kind of setup? There is no way possible that could happen in real life unless they want it to be. Seems to me that they want certain players to advance up the % scale while other are just cannon fodder so those players can advance. I in no way think I am the best player around but I sure know I'm not the worst and yet some days I cant win, always going to be around the 47% to 48% range. I never win 10 in a row would be lucky to win 5 in a row but its no problem losing 10 in a row. It has happened so much that it really becomes laughable. I know they use MM but again I think MM just looks at your skill level and sets up teams of very skilled while most of the teams I get on are cannon fodder.

Pretty good, actually. 10 games is nowhere near statistically significant.

 

There is no way possible that could happen in real life unless they want it to be.

I think my worst streak was around 16 or 17 straight losses.  It happens.

Losing several times in a row is MM's fault and the team's fault. Winning serveral times in a row is all skill.

That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works. 

 

Either you're contributing to the losses by not playing well, or you had a bad run, as we all do. Probability is a funny thing. When you win ten in a row, come back here and post a similar thread.

Once you analyze the common factors in your matches you will realize the one thing that remains in common in all them is you are in them.

Don't worry about the % chance that something like that can happen.

 

I mean, if you want to get into statistics and % chance...a large box of condoms has roughly a 68% chance of it working each time.

A million game losing streak is 100% possible without any setup or intervention. Implausible, yes, but not impossible.

 

It's also technically possible that the next time you lean against a wall the molecules in the wall and your body will align perfectly and you'll fall through the wall instead of touching it. Astronomically unlikely, but not impossible. 

 

For the sake of argument though, assuming everything is equal and you have an equal probability of losing as you do winning, losing 10 times in a row is only a 1 in 1,204 chance. So, really, not that unlikely at all given that people actually do win the lottery (1 in 292,201,338 for Powerball), get struck by lightning (1 in 12,000 over a lifetime), etc etc etc...

 I hate to pull up stats, but it appears you lost at most 7 in a row, with numbers that indicate part of the fault with the losses falls on you, might want to work on improving before trying to sling blame on everyone else.

yes indeed match maker always puts the best players in the queue vs the worst players in the queue I am surprised it took so long for you to notice that

I always loved pulling this statement out back in my WoW days when I'd join a battleground and someone would inevitably complain about how the server / faction sucked because they'd lost 20 straight games today. Even better if you checked by the end of the match and they'd hardly done any healing or damage the whole match.

​It happens bud. You win and you lose some. Just keep looking at yourself what you can do to improve. This won't make you win all battles, but it will be enough to win a few extra. MM will never be perfect to create equally skilled battles ;)

You see, because this is a MMO game you don't actually always win. Sometimes you lose to the other team. Weird huh, who could ever imagine that...

I believe it is even more complex.  I believe MM has it out for certain ships.  How else could I have either 100% w/r or 0% w/r in my ships but nothing in between for recent battles?

What you're seeing is natural random distributions in a small sample.  For more info, just google "Clustering Illusion"

Thanks guys for the input, believe me I can tell my skill leaves something to be desired that most times when I die its because I was doing something stupid. I'm not trying to blame anybody I know it falls on me but again even if I was the worst player on the planet losing that many in a row seems odd to me. But oh well I will just need to get back out and keep practicing

The simplest way to check would be to assume 50% probability of winning each time (i.e. a coin flip). Then we type "binomial calculator" in google, and voila: http://stattrek.com/online-calculator/binomial.aspx Zero successes, 10 tries, .5 probability per try. 0.00098, or roughly 1/10 of a percent. Mind you, this is a very crude approximation.

 

That's preposterous. Of course there is a way. Low probability of an event doesn't mean that that event can never occur.

Again I never blamed anybody for my game play, I know I'm not the best player on the water I know a lot of my losses are because I didnt play well...just asked what the odds are when you play with different players every match that you lose so many in a row. Didn't realize that a lot of you are world class WOWS gamers and losers like me shouldn't even ask questions. For those of you that responded positively thanks
