As some of you may have noticed, there are some new stats being tracked.

Some of these can go a long way towards quantifying soft power, particularly the values for spotting damage and cap/defense points.

First, is WG releasing the new stats via the API (or whatever the thing warships.today gets data from is called) and if it is, how challenging would it be for warships.today (or any other stat tracker, tbh) to process and display it?

Rather easy to track if WG is putting the stats out. I think their only problem before was with capture points. Or at least thats what Warships Today said on their page.

You can assume that part is merely a matter of putting the hours in. If you can't process and display data, you shouldn't be a web developer.

Poorly worded.

Meant something more on the lines of "does whatever server you're renting have the spare power/capacity to handle that data", which, upon further thought, is about as silly as asking if the devs have the skill to make it happen.

My biggest concern is what method they come up with to incorporate a stat that wasn't available until after a large number of matches were played and tracked. There are many ways to display that kind of thing, and pretty much all of them have their drawbacks. That's going to take some talented designing to implement well.

Best method I can think of is to just shelve all the old data, stick it in an archival page, and start fresh.

I was thinking I'd prefer it to just be all included together, but the per-match averages for stats that weren't always available should have a small annotation indicating how many matches out of the total that stat has been tracked for. That would depend on what exactly the API provides, though. The new values aren't showing on Warships' own stats pages, so I can't really infer anything.
