The ARP missions this time around have no anime pictures.

Nice to see you guys at WG are stooping as low as bending to the will of the pricks on forums that think seeing a single damn picture in their port gives them a reason to spew hate speech and the team really is corrupt enough to let that go while punishing the people that stood up to them, and then to spit in the faces of those who already didn't deserve it you actually have the audacity to treat them like they're in the right really listening to your community members to make this game better for them. :sceptic:

EDIT: To add some clarification in here for the people who are having issues comprehending my post. I don't care about the port pictures. I care about why they disappeared. Was it a smart move by wargaming as a means of preventing further hateful outbreaks? Yes. Was it the RIGHT move? Hell no. The right move would be to show the community that they do not tolerate under any circumstances attacking other community members be it with hate speech or any other form; that they enforce forum rules, and that anyone who breaks them will indeed be dealt with. What they've done with this is show that people can get away with stuff like that and just walk- that's not a good way to present yourself as a company. There's no actual need for these images to be removed because a small group of people cannot remain civil or sane enough to understand it's just an image. If it was removed for the reasoning of "it is distracting from the main focus of the game- ships- to have these images", it would be fine reasoning. But it's unfortunately clear that that is not why they were removed.

I couldn't care less one way or another whether there are anime pics on the game screen.

I see WG's viewpoint though. As a buisness I would have made the same call.

It's just as easy for those who want anime to run an anime mod as it is for those who don't to run one that removes that content.

Edit for grammar

People got butt hurt by things that don't affect them.

This is like the "War on Christmas" because people say "Happy Holidays." I'm just going to say Happy Kwanza this year to get people extra triggered.

They are listening to the community. I would bet that it was all the anime junkies that play this game in the first place that even got the entire ARP thing going. Yet, instead of thanking them for the event, you use the lack of even more anime to claim that they don't listen to you.

How many developer posts have you seen on the forum lately? I have seen a ton. No, so far, these guys are swell in my book. Yeah there are some things that I don't like at all like manual torpedo plane drops almost right on top of ships, but so far, I think they are doing a great job and they are listening to the community. I just hope they don't listen so much to all the whiny, childish, complainers in the community.

So, isn't it awfully entitled on your part to believe that *everyone* wants pictures of adolescent little cartoon girls plastered all over their ports?

You want that crap, go ahead and hit the button in settings to enable. Or run a mod. It shouldn't be the default.

Maybe the self-righteous gasbag who wrote the initial post hasn't figured out that WG rarely shows non-anime captains of its ships in its news articles either!  This game is about the SHIPS, not the people who ran them or commanded them.

Except that Kwazaa is a creation of a "movement" designed for political reasons. I use Happy Festivus since it's at least from a sitcom and intended for comedic purposes and Happy Festivus triggers everyone, especially the maybe 10 or so worldwide who actually practice Kwanzaa.

In college we preffered "Merry Chrisma-Hanukk-Kwanza" for maximum triggering and simultaneous PC cover, give it a try some time!

Thanks for pointing out the autocorrect error in my original post. I'll take care of that right away.

Not even masking the vitriol with this one. At least OP can show some restraint...I haven't seen anime hate speech in a while and even then, it was a vocal minority

Me either.

I wouldn't. I'd punish the sorry sacks of **** that attacked a heaping portion of my game's community so it never happens again- instead of taking their side like an idiot.

Again, don't care about the image. What I care about is how the REASON they're gone is because they're pandering to the people that kept throwing hate speech at the company's community. That's just plain stupid.

They are listening to the community. I would bet that it was all the anime junkies that play this game in the first place that even got the entire ARP thing going. Yet, instead of thanking them for the event, you use the lack of even more anime to claim that they don't listen to you.

That's likely. It's also just as possible that ARP stuff is what dragged so many anime fans in. I wouldn't know one way or another. Oh no- I thank them greatly for this event. I've been waiting for ashigara for a while now. Also I never said anything about them "not listening to me". Maybe you should go back and try reading my post better? All I brought up is the reason it's gone (and I honestly couldn't care whether or not there are anime images in port. I play this game for naval combat not anime) is because they're pandering to a toxic group in the community that as far as I can tell are being treated like they're in the right rather than punished for what they've done and the rules they broke a while back. If they had never had the pictures- I wouldn't have cared. If they'd removed them just because they didn't feel it fit in game, I wouldn't have said anything. But it's obvious they're catering to a group of people that attacks the community that enjoys these events (If you'd seen the incidents I'm referring to you'd change your tune right quick, believe me), and that's it. It's just dumb.

Can't tell if you didn't read post or if you consider the mission panel in game a news page- but that doesn't matter. I don't care about the news page either. I care about why this change happened, and what it says about WG as a company.

People got butt hurt by things that don't affect them.

Yes. Yes they did. Only these people somehow honestly think seeing an anime girl on a tiny panel in game for two seconds was going to somehow send them to hell, make their wife divorce them, or turn them into a pedobear. Sad really.

It's not. My post isn't about the lack of animation- it's about why it happened. I couldn't care less what the mission panel looked like. I'm just not happy with WG as a company for how they treated the situation I brought up.

EDIT: I'm well aware that it was indeed a smart move as a company. Thing is- they shouldn't have to pander to the hate speech tossers and slanderers to get them to shut up. They should punish them, make an example out of them, and fix the problem instead of essentially paying them off. It's not right as a company to let people like that bash on their community and get off scott free- and to boot listen to their asinine, narcissistic, and frankly insane demands.

As someone who enjoys the Arpeggio series (and many other types of anime) and is happy to have the missions back, all I can say on the subject of the OP's complaint is:

Someone needs to go back to sixth grade to relearn what hate speech is. It's generally used in the context of racial or sexual discrimination or any other protected group of people. Not because someone has a differing opinion on the intrinsic value of goofy little cartoon girls.

At any rate, it seems awfully self entitled to demand that WG cater to you at the behest of others. Go download one of those mods if you want to vomit anime all over your interface. There are plenty of normal, well adjusted individuals that play this game that don't need it.

It's not really any different than the news page. It's only going to be up for a month. We're keeping the ARP ships in the long run, which is unmodified. Still have few [edited] to give. They used stock images for the in-game ARP notifications last time as well.

Why can't you be satisfied with what WG has already given us?

You're the only person here that even cares about this.

Because existence of big problems is not an excuse to completely disregard small problems perhaps?
