Last night I division-ed up with a guy in a Fletcher who speced his ship with all AA buffs he could get. He consistently shot down 20+ tier 10 planes per game, and I think his record was 36 or so. (We had a tier 10 Japanese Carrier in our div, which is why we always had carriers in our games)

CV players have a tough time finding a viable target to hit now, so buffing AA further would make most ships invulnerable to attack from the air. They are almost cornered into picking on DD's now. If some people have crap AA it's most likely due to them not specing their ships with that in mind.

I play CVs regularly and I can tell you this. The issue isn't the CVs entirely as AA currently is just messed up the cruisers have lost their potential as AA platforms and the USN CVs (which I'm currently playing) fail to even get near BBs due to their stupid amount of AA alone. What would have been better was the NERF BB AA and give it to the cruisers. If you want a video of this I can pull one up right now Edited August 24, 2016 by AkiraKurai
138 fish_Jones Members 337 posts 4,434 battles Report post #10 Posted August 24, 2016 I'm 95% sure the reason BB's are getting more plane kills is because CV's try to steer clear of cruisers, or at least I do. It's not that your AA isn't better, it's that carriers don't go after you unless they have to.

It actually is when all your 4 squads die before launching a single torpedo or bomb while trying to approach the Iowa (even though I think they fixed that since T7 CVs can't meet T9 AA anymore). Torps for example. Does your Amagi have Torps? No. Is your Amagi capable of starting the panic mode? No. And just for you to know the Mogami has a weak AA as she was a T7 long ago and the Myoko was at T8. And buffing the AA on USN Cruisers is not necessary at all. Des Moines has already the third highest AA barrel damage behind the Montana and the Midway.
