Wondering how many of us would like to see signal flags sold in bulk lots, as a regular Premium store item

Nope. A little too close to a pay2win meta for me. Signal flags don't make a huge difference, but they're earned and you can only earn so many per day (as you only get flags for first time you get an achievement each day.) If you could buy in bulk, that's a way to buy performance enhancement.

The ones that need to come back are the experience and credit ones. Those don't make your ship perform any better, they just lessen the grind.

Considering I rarely even bother to use the signal flags I earn, no I would not personally like to see it. That said I can definitely understand the reason people would. No vote given because while I understand the desire I just can't encourage anything that gets people to spend more money on a game where everything is heinously overpriced.

You should take a look at some of their effects. They are super useful, especially for battleships. And speed flags on a Russian DD? Awesomesauce.

Yeah I know they can be- that's why even I rarely use them. Thing is if I do use them they're out long before I earn more; and then it just creates an annoying disparity in ship performance, and the need to either shell out credits for auto-refills or manually put more on when I get them. It's not worth it to me. It's more annoying than anything. The only flag I put on is military month contributer since it's permanent. The bonus isn't even big or anything, I just kinda like how it looks.

How exactly are flags pay to win? Anyone can earn them, some of us want to buy them to speed up our grinds... Which is the whole "freemium" business model.

I'd like to see flags in the store permanently like every other cluster has.

Yup, there's no reason why these shouldn't be permanently available for sale.  The ones that provide slight performance boosts could still be earned the usual way.

WG already sells the "supply drop" and the "starter packs".

I can see the argument for limiting flag sales to non-performance enhancing items. However, it sure would be nice to be able to buy a "battleship pack" with the secondary and fire flags.

Of course I can just sail the Nassau if Warspite ever fails to get a Close Quarters Expert medal and I run out of those secondary flags. And I can't remember when I ran out of the repair cost reducer flags. "It's Just A Flesh Wound" medals just happen when you play DD a lot. I do generally limit use of those flags to BBs and ships Tier VI or higher.

The premium supply drop that WG sells for $10 is loaded down with trash though, just to jack up the price. You only get 5 of each flag. Thats barely anything for the price.

We just want a flag only pack like they had a while back. A TON of credit and xp flags for the same price. If they sold those permanently in the shop, it'd be their bread and butter money maker item. As a co-op player, credit and xp booster flags are a MUST have item, that really help soften the grind a bit. And I have no issue paying a bit of money to help lessen the grind, on top of a premium account.

Voted no, but if the thinkpay2win wants to buy things. They did actually offer signals a few months back. Credit, XP, free XP increases were all the most expensive.

I could be ok with those being for sale. I just don't want performance-enhancing flags for sale. The +XP flag is no different than buying +XP camo, so why not?

The only PAY 2 WIN flags are the speed, secondary, damage control, and Detonation flags.

I don't feel those should be sold.

However, the Ship XP, Commander XP, Extra Free XP, Extra Credits, and Reduced repair costs are NOT Pay to win.

I feel those should be sold.  They help those of us who only play less than 10 missions a day... thus we can afford premium accounts and these flags to make up.  They don't make our ships any harder to kill, or allow us to sink others any faster.

..

Wish I stocked up on a couple thousand Captain XP when I had the chance.

Some of us, er, older gamers need all the performance enhancement we can get.

Don't premium consumables make your ship perform better?  If we're talking about a pay-to-win item, it seems to me these count, too.

xp and credit boosting flags do not in anyway make your ship perform better than anyone else's. They only decrease the grind a little, thats it.

Besides, nothing in this game is actually "p2w" in the sense everyone thinks. The worst you'll ever see is an item that is "pay to have a very slight advantage". There is no item you can purchase in this game that will guarantee you a win. They just don't exist in this game.

I voted no for a permanent sale, but I do like the periodic ones.  I still think there is something to be said about having to earn flags, with a random sale here and there just to help captains out a bit.

Selling signal flags is too close to p2w for me.  There are plenty of missions where WG offer flags as rewards and all of them are winnable (some easier than most).

As a side note, I'd like to see WG provide some kind (all be it a small one) for Devastating Stikes.  It seems to have an award that provides no benefit.

But if you can purchase Captain XP then you are gaining an advantage through payment because you will be able to get to a 15+ point captain quicker.  That said, it's not really any different than having a premium account.  Honestly, I think that the should either increase the Captain XP calculation or reduce the scale for the higher tier considering you need 880,470 XP to get a Gearing, but you need 1,154,900 for an 18 point captain (where the last three points take 894,000 Captain XP), and that does not include time lost due to retraining.  This is probably one of my most frustrating issues with the game.

You really only need 15 point captain to play DDs at a high level, though; anything else is icing. Only DD I have more than a 15 point captain on is my Kamikaze-R for torp reload expert. (I do have a 16 pointer on my Khab, but two of those points are unused until I get 18 and get SE to go with AFT and DE...but once again, that's icing on cake.)

Also, they run frequent commander skill boost events.

I would love to able to pick up bulk signal flags from the shop. It can be periodic sales and does not have to be permanent item in there. :)

But you still need 646,900 Captain XP to get to 15 point.

For those of us who work for a living and need to go to bed at 10, that's a dozen games - if there is nothing else going on in the house.

If you look at my stats for this week, that means single digit games a day...  And I'm burned out and tired when I get behind the keyboard.

But back when the Texas was sold, with flags also for sale, I was able to come home from work and push 13,500 XP a day through the 'Southern Drawl' XP promotion to reach my first 15 point captain out of a 13 pointer.  It was a great effort for me -- certainly not a lot of fun.

...

And I put my first 15 point captain onto a CV and used it in Team Battles.  It served my team well.

....

And then my carrier started sailing off towards the nearest enemy ship while I was working planes on the other side of the map...   Ah, the 15 point 'Air Supremacy' Curse.  Gotta love this game that puts RNG malfunctions onto the captain skills.

If you really want to get upset about the signals packages, go to this web address and see what signals EU server players can get:

https://eu.wargaming...p/wows/signals/

You will notice that this is the European WoWs premium signals shop. They get outstanding packages like 100 of each of the 3 best flags for less than $12, and no spamming the gamer with a package that includes a bunch of flags that are pretty much worthless. If you do follow the link and check this out, you will see what I say is true. I even managed to log on to the EU server and buy a package once, but once they figured out I was an NA  server player they refunded my money in doubloons, which was fair, but I really want those good signals.

So the next step would be for players on the North American server to ask why the NA players are less valued than the EU players, and see if they would please extend the same signals packages to us. It does seem counter intuitive to only offer NA player junk signals. I would happily give WoWs NA cash for good signals, but I'm not going to buy anymore of the random hodge podge they offer NA players now.

The question for me is, do they want to trade good signals for my cash, or is that not an option? I have the money in the bank, and I do love the game, and I am inclined to pay for quality in game stuff..... so can we come to an arrangement WoWs NA? Will you put the EU signals packages on the NA server so I would have a reason to give you my hard earned entertainment dollars?  Please?

Actually, I was referring to the Damage Control Party II-type items in the game, not the flags.
