I used to see it a lot more. Now, not so much, but that could just be because there are so many more players.

Chief reason is most likely because the first season of the anime has finished, it also didn't help that the anime wasn't that good.

 

Less exposure means less poi. The more casual fans probably jumped onto another bandwagon as well. Poi will likely make a return when season 2 turns up.
