my problem is not getting team killer staus, or that eventually i will be rid of it. it's that when it says five games, its like 15 or twenty. is this a "feature" of the game now?

Yep, just nudge another ship and the game doesn't count towards removing the penalty

Once you become pink, any sort of allied damage will cause the trial period to extend.  So if you bump a friendly for a mere 10 points of damage, it extends for another game.

I recommend wearing pink off in coop with a fast cruiser like Phoenix or Kuma. You can run away from your allies and keep distance from them while still being useful. Just try to really really watch those torp launches.

5 normally but it can be more if you have a history of doing team damage or team killing. I had one yesterday that took six because of a collision with an ally, I have had others take more than that though.

Now I played a couple games, careful to avoid team damage, and it remains at 4 games. Is this "feature" broken, or is this working as intended, Comrade?

Are you exiting battle before the battle results comes up? It might not be fully counting down (or it could be a bug) until the other battles are complete.

Supposed to be 5.  But I've seen sometimes when the countdown does not go down even though no team damage was done in that battle.  So 6 battles in those cases.

This is what I was told by a CS.

 

Thank you for contacting Wargaming America Support.

I need to inform you that the pink status will drop off automatically after you have met the threshold.

The "amount of battles" needed to play is only a guideline, as it will still be determined by the amount of damage you deal to the enemy meanwhile avoiding any allies.

As this is simply a guideline, we can only say to get back in the fight.

If however you're still pink status after roughly 10 more battles and you have not dealt any team damage, please provide us with those screenshots so we can investigate further in case anything is not working correctly.

thanks for the added info, LordCorellon. This was what I was thinking it could be, but was not sure. some games I do more damage than others, and that is pretty much where I see the counter drop

Something still wonky.  The battle where I did not see my amount of battles remaining drop, was actually my best battle while I was pink.

4-6 but literally just tapping an ally dealing 1 damage resets it.

Ok, now I've seen two statements from WG that are exactly the opposite on the pink status. This question was asked in the forums a number of times after the change, and I'm pretty sure a Dev stated that it was GAMES only.

Since I've seen pinks run to a corner and hide for an entire game, I assumed that information was correct.... 

Now we have support telling us something different??? :amazed:

 

Wake up WG, clarify the rules!

Decided to play Hak for the first time in like 6 months yesterday.  Late game had a DD closing on me and a yamato.  I was trying to keep enemy fighters off me so I set up an auto drop cross pattern on the DD while trying to keep enemy fighters busy.

 

DD pops smoke, essentially stalling my auto drop... didn't notice the friendly Yamato charging the damn DD.  Was a mess of planes over DD, and they dropped on him when he appeared from smoke.  One hit the DD and a bunch missed, and two of them caught the friendly Yam... did not expect him to charge the DD, did not see him on time to stop the auto drop...  buddy eats two torps for 8k damage then floods himself another 7k swearing at me. I got pink for NINE games. 

 

>sigh<

 

...and it was the auto drop that did it, not MEEEE..

I got pink staus the day the new rules came into effect , never did see the countdown to when I would no longer be pink, but it was 5 games and took about 2 hours to do , i hit no one and stayed clear of all Freindlies ... And just to be safe didnt fire torps

I got pink do to torpedoes last night, I ran my tier 3 DD for the event and am not very good in it. I found out that you get extended even if the tap to a friendly was the friendlies fault. In other words they get a warning for hitting you not you hitting them..

Well I had Tk status of five games , it has now been SEVEN , saying I still have 2 remaning  NO TEAM DAMAGE at all during these games. I went back and doubled checked every game. Not to mention being pink wasnt my fault, Playing a T3 to help a new guy in the game. Another DD charges in from another angle/ island  and takes torps that WOULD have killed the intended ship in another few seconds. ( I fired from like 2 Km ).(just so he could get the kill I might add). This system is as broken as ANY game mechanics I have ever seen. I have playing Video games longer than most people at WOWs have been alive im guessing as well. PLEASE FIX THIS SYSTEM IT DOESNT WORK

The TK system is badly broken and just plain stupid, in several different ways. In your case, it says "5 games" but even though you can go many games without damaging a friendly and doing damage to enemy ships, it will not add them. Hence, if it says "7 games" you should assume it will take you 10-20 games to remove that pink, no matter how much damage/ship killing you do. I have seen it stay at "1 game" for game after game.

 

I don't know why that hasn't been fixed. Nor will WG release the threshold number for damage, so without evidence, I don't see any reason to believe that the system is reasonable or functional. All my experience suggests otherwise. In no case has it ever taken me the stated number of games to remove the pink status. It is usually at least twice that number with damage to reds/no damage to greens. Stoopid.

 

The good news is that since the TK system is dysfunctional, it doesn't matter whether you are pink or not, so long as you are not damaging allies. Since the system is meaningless and broken, resulting in pink ships in most matches, no one cares anymore. The bad news is that since it is completely dysfunctional, you can take damage for innocent collisions. Another easily fixed problem mysteriously not fixed.

ONE kill on a weakened Nelson via from torps planes. Level VIII.  This is about the 3rd time I have been pink in the two years I have been playing.
penalty for killing my team mate in a really bad map view torp drop?  18 games of being pink.

Someone ran into my torps this weekend in a melee in a cap where a half-dozen of both teams were whirling around and duking it out. It took six games to take away the pink.

I got the dreaded pink status the other day for the 1st time in a LONG time. :Smile_facepalm:

Was in Neptune and was fighting a BB with a friendly Indianapolis. The Indy player turned and ran away (went left) from the BB so I sent torps at the BB (going right). Then the Indy player did a 180 (to now go right) and went back at the BB. I chatted "Indy torps on the way look out" and then watched the enemy BB blow up from a friendly BB somewhere and the Indy sail right past it and into my torps. Saw it even turn INTO them to take more hits. I chatted come on man why? and got back an LOL and then a running commentary about drinking tea from the bottom of the sea. I said it's my fault as I launched them but you were going away and I warned you when you turned why did you purposely turn INTO them? Just got another lol and my this tea is delicious or some other such nonsense.

Clearly this was done on purpose. NO other explanation besides incredible stupidity (which may apply as he turned around to go right at a BB with an Indy). Again my torps so I own what they hit but come on I warned the guy and he had plenty of time to miss them not turn into them. Shouldn't have even been close let alone sinking him. You do everything you can to be safe with torps and then stuff like this happens and it sucks. I know if I come across this player in a game again I am going the other way.  :Smile_amazed:

So I grabbed Black Swan, rigged it up, and played my 5 games penance. I just let all the T1 Rambo's charge ahead and I stayed well back from everyone. I also tried to look for a flank that they were ignoring that had enemy ships. I would just go there and take those ships out without having to worry about getting bumped or anything. One of the games I noticed I spawned with a pink ship close on each side so I immediately threw it in reverse as the game started and am glad I did. Those clowns charged for each other and were shooting each other from the get go. I would have been in the middle and got rammed if I hadn't.

Was very glad when the pink was gone. :Smile_honoring:
