Cost of repairs for higher tier ships

I worked hard to get to tier X. I bought a Des Moines. Had a great first battle and was very happy with my ship until I saw the cost of operating the thing. I was on the winning team but actually lost a lot of silver.   I really had no idea you had to pay for ammunition fired!  If something is not done to reduce the repair costs other than a silly 10 percent flag. I will not buy another ship higher than tier VIII. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I didn't know we had tier XIII (13) ships. Where are my anti-ship missiles? High tier repair costs have been intentionally set to discourage players from piling at T10, but it's currently a bit high for even good players to make a small profit.

As for the rest, maybe you didn't have as great a battle as you think if you lost credits.  Also, it's well known (or certainly should be) that you not supposed to be playing tier 9-10 battles to make credits, unless you have a premium account and do very, very well.

I grinded patiently thru the German cruiser line to get the Hindenberg.   I finally got it.  Great ship.  Love it.  Except for one thing.  The repair costs.

 

Last game in her I sank 3 ships, got over 150k damage, wasn't sunk, ranked #1 for team.   Made 39,000 credits.

 

This is with Premium, the 5% Memorial day flag, -10% repair cost flag and 20% more credits flag.   That gentlemen, is just obscene.

 

So, I don't play her anymore.  Or any T9 - T10 ship.  Its just not worth it.

Playing a great ship, having fun, not spending a DIME out of your pocket for that fun.. Maybe make a LITTLE, maybe a lot, maybe lose some....

I FAIL to understand this logic, at all...

I have three tier nine ships, I do OK in them, from time to time, I lose credits in them, from time to time, I want the Zao, DeMoines, Moskva, Kharb, and a few others, so I grind a few times a day, don't make a lot in them....

I have Almost every tier 5, 6, 7, and 8 ship, I play them to make $$$$... ONE blyskawica game makes more credits than I could lose in three tier nine losses...

The recuperation value alone for low tier ships alone,  let alone any premium ships premium ships offsets ANY loss in tier nine...

AND get this,,,,, I HAVE A BLAST PLAYING... even if I lose....

with or without premium time... I ran out and don't have $$ for a week or two, if I decide to buy more

 

SO PLEASE, stop with the "I AM NOT PLAYING A FAKE SHIP IN A VIDEO GAME THAT COST'S NOTHING TO PLAY BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MAKE FAKE MONEY....when all you have to do is have a few tier 5 or 6 ships....( or a BLyskawica)

Welcome to WG (Wargame Greed)  Yeah they charge you an arm and a leg grinding to get to tier X, then Pound you harder to play them (Win or Lose)  which is why I will not grind to another tier X either, I'll just stick with my Des Moines and Montana.

I don't get it...

if they are FUN to play, PLAY... make up the "cost" low tier.... you know you can... so do it!!

If you love playing tens as much as I did in the test server and am grinding for at least TWO this week.... PLAY THEM!!!!

IT is a game, not a living, you are not going to go hungry tonight if you lose 50K credits in a game fixing that Montana.....

I mean, NO OFFENSE, but why is it such a topic about money for ships at tier ten... you don't NEED to make any more to buy another tier ship.... teh XP gets modules,,, the $$$ from low tier wins recovers any and all losses, sometimes in ONE game....

I am beside myself every-time I see this....

I never once worry about losing credits... I just worry about fun, because I know how much I will make down at tier 5 6 and 7, to make up for any loss at 9 and 10.... THAT is what it is set up for, that is why there are tier 5 6 7 8..... and always will be....

You don't NEED to buy premium time, but it helps...

When you have limited time is not fun play 5  battles at tier 5/6 for a single tier 10. Better stay around tier 7 where without premium you can have a little gain ( i talk for pve)

Because ammo is dirt cheap before it suddenly skyrockets.

 

As for the second part, idc if it's currently true, it's stupid, and shouldn't be.

 

It essentially boils down to the developer giving you a gimped product unless you pay for it.

 

if they are FUN to play, PLAY... make up the "cost" low tier.... you know you can... so do it!!

 

Being punished for having a great game kind of takes away from the fun.

There are many ships I'd like to purchase and play in this game.  To do that, I need CREDITS.  I don't live in momma's basement playing video games all day.  Only a short amount of time per day to play, so wasting an hour in my Hindenberg for 3 matches or so where I make little to no credits is pointless.

 

If you do well in a match you should be rewarded.  This game has it backwards for T9-10.  If you do well, you may not lose much.  That's backa$$wards.

 

If you have plenty of time to grind away for credits, good for you.  You have no problem making little to no credits playing high tier matches.  Great!!  Have a blast.

 

I don't enjoy it though, so I rarely play my high tier ships.
