What happens when you go full on attack mode in a Clemson?

Normally when you play a low-mid tier American destroyer, you want to play it as a gun boat, meaning stay at range and keep the guns singing.

One day I decided to throw that strategy out the window and just charge the enemy guns blasting and torpedoes swimming.

The result was worth it.

Good replay but I don't see how that is a raise. You got less damage and the same number of kills. Also, you died, and I didn't

Although, at tier 4 CLs don't escort BBs or follow closely behind DDs.  Everyone basically yolos still, albeit with some "getting the hang of it".

 

Try the same thing in a Benson in a tier 9-10 match, and you may have different results.

I know. I tried it once in a tier 8 or so game, didn't end well for me.

I just kraken'd in my Clemson...only 88k, and I died...but, I ended up wolf packed by the two remaining red DD at the end (after I killed their CV, I think they were upset)...and I still got them both (it's just a flesh wound!).  Even your fellow DD players sometimes forget you have torpedoes...a lot of torpedoes.  I smoked a BB earlier who rushed me, sunk their CV and three of their four DD.  The last two DD ate torps...one I finished with guns, the other was trying to dodge a six torp spread at less than 2km...wasn't even enough space between the torps to fit his ship.  It's harder to use torps without stealth, and the guns are fun...but, man, getting 12 torps out in a hurry from Clubson can really wreck.

Started a game on Ocean once in my Clemson, and we had four or five DDs.  I lead a charge straight into them, as there was nowhere to ambush from....man, was that a fun game.  We swept thru them like a fire - I took out a New York, then another BB.  A cruisers was next, and caught a DD in a torp pattern...don't recall if I ended up with four or five kills, but we tore them apart; the other DDs were taking down BBs and then the CV after I sank.  It was glorious!  One long adrenaline run!

 

Great game.  Reminds me that sometimes you gotta just throw caution to the wind!  "Fortune favors the brave"  (....or crazy!)

Whenever I'm on a bad streak a couple games in my Clemson always makes me feel better. Fun little clubber.

Nothing is more embarrassing than to find out that seal you have been tracking is something more akin to a killer whale.
