There are AI once launched. The player can tell them what to attack, how to attack, and when to retreat and land, etc. Hope this answers your question!

Are the planes Human controlled or are they Bots once launched?

Best to compare that game mode with a RTS. You give orders on what to do and how to do it, but the planes' AI does it.

Too many planes and you'd have a hard-time coordinating and flying. Really your are the captain and you are giving you head of flight operations orders as to what needs to get done.

I wonder if they have any (long term) planes to integrate it so that players can control the aircraft as well?

 Can you adjust attack though? as in send a squad out and instead of telling them to retreat and land can you adjust course and action to attack a different target mid-flight?

As people before stated, they are AI controlled (as are the AA guns), however players can give them commands. 

 

What my main question is, is whether you can queue orders. For example, if your carrier is lined up to face the stern of the ship you want to attack, and you want to attack with torpedo bombers its best to attack the port/starboard side of the ship you would want your planes to fly around at in a half circle before engaging. Can you mark out their flight path? Or will you only be able to send them in one straight line and have to adjust their course accordingly after each straight? This could be tedious if you are trying to manage and coordinate multiple squadrons simultaneously.

 

Any thoughts?

if you can tell them when to retreat that implies you can switch targets as well. since there's an NDA i don't know if we will get clarification unless a dev chimes in.

Would add alot of imbalance if they made the planes flyable, not to say it wont be a option in the future once the player base is at a good number or they implement warplanes into it. just seems more fun to have a (command and Conquer) type AI bot when running a flight squadron. I could see alot of issues if it wasn't AI.

I havent played the game but I'm sure you will be able to ping a certain point and they will converge to that point or they have a scroll option of commands you right click to give the AI's a command.

AI controlled, but i think you can select a target for them, or sometihng they should harass and things like that

Should be able too, they have mentioned that the player will need to guide the planes to the proper attack position.  So I imagine you should be able to control them

about as well as you can control units in your favorite RTS ( starcraft/warcraft/age of empires etc ).

They absolutely can not elaborate.  If they do, they will have their accounts banned and can possibly face legal action for violating the legal document that is the NDA.

 

And when I say their accounts get banned, it isn't just their access to WoWS, but they lose their WG United Account, meaning all of their progress in WoT and WoWP is gone as well.

 What he said.  Don't look to Alphas for info.  Mouths are under lock and key if they want to keep their unified accounts.  Just wait until you get into alpha or beta.

What is the reload time for the planes?  Is there a secondary "ammunition"?

 

I would assume there is a deployment time of how long it takes for the squadron to become airborne. This might vary from carrier to carrier. Also, ammunition for them is planes. Before battle, you can select a loadout from scouts, fighters, torpedo bombers and dive bombers, like you do with ammo in WoT. It would be interesting if premium ammunition is incorporated into that somehow...
