Decide to take the Udaloi out, load into domination mode on Two Brothers, Not many destroyers but Tier 10 carriers and Oh look at that a wild Noster in a Tier 10 German BB this should be interesting match. Took 4 torpedoes from two torp squadrons while trying to cap A and hid from a near by enemy Des Moines at the same time. Which didn't end well for my ship and the rest of the team went full on camp mode. Well except Notser who did his best and came out on top of a losing team. Fine, I screwed up and died needlessly but I know I can do better. Lets try again, this time with more feeling and less dying. Time to get serious, Next game Islands of Ice, Domination mode again and an even mix of Tier 8s an 9s. Then the storm hit and things got crazy. This is the most damage I've ever done in one game. Ships keep showing their broad sides or running into my torpedoes. Most of the damage was done around B cap and it was an epic battle. 8 of those citadel hits where on a Kutuzov who decided to show his broadside at less than 8k and not focus on the destroyers on his starboard side was a good idea. 13 [P2W] djanico Members 46 posts 12,886 battles Report post #10 Posted August 24, 2016 Man I'm having a hard time adjusting to Udaloi, ok ok to be fair i haven't fully upgraded her yet... but i find her pretty slow for a Ru DD and gawd that turning radius blows.. should i invest in improve rudder? Please tell me she gets better or at least a little faster with upgrades. Will be hunkering down and just earning some credits to upgrade her up. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

A rudder shift mod will help her turn better. But Its the captain skills that really make her shine. Get BFT and AFT as soon as possible so you can fire faster and from longer ranges. If you can help it keep the big ship at almost max range and just rain HE on them and switch to AP if you can get a broadside on shot at their super structure. You need to think of the Udaloi as a small cruiser without a citadel not as a stealth destroyer. Hope this helps. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The moment I saw a Notser video in my subscription list reviewing the FDG I was worried, than I see its a match on Two Brothers and I knew what was coming. Imagine my shame when he called me out, But those two videos have had some interesting side effects, random people in game are saying hi to me and complementing my destroyer game which is nice.
