Is there any plan for introducing antiship missiles and defiance because it will be more exciting for duel between cold war era US battleships and Russian battle crusers???!!!

WG stated no Cold War era ships,only WWI-WWII.

Thirdly. How on earth would automatically guided missiles that are **** near impossible to deal with, turning the game into a "press button to play" game... be more fun??

Aye, no. I think that be a bad plan, and a boring one as well. Arrrgh, why would you want them? I mean, seriously. They would make for very lame gameplay.  The only thing they could be used for would be an April Fools Day event. Also, Carriers would be obsolete if we had missiles in this game.

No, WG made specific technological limitations. Not era limitations. Moskva iirc is a post WWII design.

 

 

Anyways: devils advocate; WG never said there would never be missiles at least not in readily available things that are translated into english that i can presently find. Please do cite sources if i'm wrong though.

The upcoming Russian BB line will include guided anti-ship nuclear missiles with MIRV warheads to sink multiple vessels at once.

As usual, you are correct. Not that WG has expressed much interest in them, however.

It clearly wouldn't work in combination with the ships and mechanics currently present in this game.  But as an entirely different game, it absolutely could: remember that modern warships are designed both to sink other ships and to avoid being sunk in the process.  There were anti-missile defense systems in use throughout the cold war era, so it wouldn't have to be a case of "see ship, click mouse, wait for ship to explode."

 

That said, the maps would have to be considerably larger, which would make for a slower-paced game where detecting the enemy while remaining hidden yourself would be more important than sheer firepower.  With the niche audience that sort of game would appeal to, it might not make for the best free to play business model.

 

(sorry, I skipped out on the forums for many months, so I didn't get to participate in all the other discussions about this)

From how I understand their answer when ask they are thinking about possibly including unguided rocket systems as a AA or secondary battery. For example the British Z battery AA-MRLS that was in use aboard HMS Hood, HMS Nelson, to name a few in the early part of WWII. Being real life pyro (but can't light fires in game to save my soul, go figure:trollface:) and amateur rocket guru, I'm naturally am excited about the prospect of these historical accurate and unique systems being added in game, possibly as short range AA with something like 1.2-2km range similar to the 20mm they were designed to supplement.

First, it would be a cool idea to do Cold War era ships, even though battleships would officially be outdated. There would mostly be destroyers and missile cruisers and of course, carriers (including the US super carriers).

Second, missiles COULD be a great addition...COULD be. it'll be way to difficult to actually balance them, and submarines would have to be included, especially since missiles would be in the Cold War era (being that submarines are inherently OP, there is no way to make them balanced. War Thunder would be the type of game for subs and naval missiles as realism is their thing, not balanced team-based combat)

Some part of me has always wished WG wouldn't limit themselves quite so much. Why not have tiers beyond 10 that introduces more modern ships yet keeps them out of the same queue. Kinda like a tier 1 all over again.

Of course I see my own issue... It would eventually split the player base... Baugh... Nevermind.

The thing is, a Battleship will laugh at most Anti-Ship Missiles, they are designed to go through thin skinned warships, against a Battleship? Might as well be fireworks,
