Different research prices for same ship

I sold my Mutsuki  (useless boat) but kept my Minekazi.  I was looking to purchase the Hatsuharu but the tech tree tells me one research price and the port tells me a different one.

 

 

 

Plus where is it getting the "required $10,373" from.  I have $69,741 on my Minekaze , 48,748 in free XP and 9,946 dubloons.

 

Is it me being math challenged or what?

Is there a module on the mitsuki that needs to be researched before you can research the hatsu?

You haven't researched Mutsuki C hull yet, which you need to unlock Hatsuharu. The 63000 XP is for the ship itself, without prerequite modules.

Also, you must convert the Minekaze xp to free xp as the Mutsuki is between it and the Hatsu.

I didn't do bad in her, but I hated her. She is a tier 6 destroyer, that is functionally worse than the tier 5 destroyer. Same guns (C hull is worthless), bigger detection radius, worse torpedo arrangement, nearly the same torpedoes, slower, and has effectively the same hit points (200 hp difference).

I was confused as well, but it includes the Free XP you have.

If you don't want to use Free XP, get all the ship XP you need and buy.

Agreed - guns useless, torps spotted way to easily.  Anyone with a half a brain can easily outmanuver the torps.  That ship alone caused me to abandon the rest of the IJN DD line.
