I don't remember from where but awhile back it was mentioned it would not be returning due to balancing (spec) reasons or something along the lines as they don't want more players to obtain the ship so they don't have to rebalance it. Absolutely - WG only have themselves to blame for it being OP so why should only the lucky few that bought it the one time it was available continue to be rewarded for their fortune? Put it back on sale Its op for a reason because its a tier 4 fuso but a CV can easily kill you, I would say no because there are very few players out there and w don't want this to end up like the scharhorst where every bb on the team is the same ship. However, I tried to find the video from Gamescon in Germany back in August with one of the game producers, but couldn't find it readily. Though I did find the write up of the article and this why it won't be on sale again. The Nikolai was a mistake. The ship looked balanced on paper and it seemed fine during testing. After the release, with increasing numbers of the ship, it became clear that it is too powerful, so it will not be sold again. Having one ship in a game is fine but with divisions it really becomes a problem. The ship will still be used for giveaways/contests on occasion. In the future there will be more extensive testing to prevent another Nikolai. Jacek Pudlik, the Associate Publishing Producer at Wargaming.net I put in bold where the problem in the ship really is. As someone said, "So sick of people sayin its OP. [edited]. It can be sunk like any other ship.", well unfortunately the game isn't balanced for a one versus one environment. If that were the case, then "maybe" the Nikolia would be fine. However, as the producer said, the problem truly lays within divisions or multiple Nikolai's on the team. All joking aside, it is pretty OP; I feel almost dirty divisioning with 2 of them.
