I did 115k damage, which was enough to land me in the middle of the team. Fully half the team has over 2k base XP. Threw a few 'plays well's out this match, that's for sure.

Base XP = experience earned before multipliers from flags, camo's... first win of the day bonus etc... to get to the top... do lots of damage.. cap bases.. get kills

​XP is damage done and points capped, among a few other things I think. Just taking two caps solo will put you in the top range of XP, even without damage.

Judging by xp, that was quite a fight. Resp. Almost 2k xp for losing side is extremely rare. As well as 6 2k guys on winning side. That's reason I always record battles (that and mm-analysis)

It's not just damage done.  It's % of enemy's health done.  doing 5k to a DD is worth a lot more exp than doing 5k to a battleship, because the BB has a much larger pool of health.
