I would expect it to be released soon since the NDA has been lifted. 

 

I am buying one. 

 

At this rate I am going to play nothing but Premiums. (Maybe that's what WG wants)

i def dont reccomend this ship to cruiser mains. 

 

its a Battleship, use it like one.  dont give up on AP if ur frustrated at bouncing, trust me you will always miss the perfect broadside opportunity's. 

 

this ship thrives on using her DPM to kill cruisers and oblivious battleships.  dont be afraid to brawl other battleships because you are very capable at killing north carolina's and amagi's at close range. 

 

I disagree. The guns work best when treated like heavy cruiser guns in term of ammunition choice and shot placement - at least, in most situations, and at mid and long range. Up close and 1v1, yes, bully Amagis and North Carolinas with AP. But these situations are rare.

Thank you so much for another wonderful review.  I'm probably going to get her since I like the idea of a punchy, fast-reloading monster that can rend the flesh of cruisers :D.

ur not gonna accomplish much spamming HE at range. ur real damage is the AP. 

 

Good luck putting significant damage on 40-degree angled Izumos at 18km using your AP. With HE I was able to siphon 105k from him alone. This is an 11" armed ship at a tier where battleships are armored with 14" ~ 16" guns in mind.

 

Also, what do you do with all the extra time you saved typing 'ur' instead of 'your'? :trollface:

In more accurate terms (as I think Wo thinks all BBs are brawlers) this ship is  meant for brawlers, not snipers, but it takes that to a whole new level of difficulty. 800m turning radius. My Rado hungers for cits and blood.

The real damage is in AP, but it's going to let you down if you use it to the exclusion of all else.  Against light cruiser targets (Konigsberg, Nurnberg, all Soviet cruisers, Omaha-class), you can fire AP and get good hits even when they try and angle.  However, against heavy cruisers, especially the IJN Heavy Cruisers, if they angle, your AP will ricochet off their sides at ranges over 12 to 14km.  This also applies against Battleships.  If they give you their broadside?  Sure, fire AP.  But as soon as they angle, your shells will ricochet, even against a soft skinned BB like a Kongo. 

 

The protection against this is to get in close.  Inside of 12km, your 283mm guns will generally give you penetrations against all targets if you aim for where they're vulnerable.  These aren't like the Warspite's 381mm guns where you can fire almost blindly into the angled side of a ship and still get some acceptable numbers.  Switching over to HE when these thicker-armoured targets angle is very helpful for keeping the damage up.  But you have to be dynamic with your ammunition choices.  If you miss a perfect broadside because you had the wrong shell loaded, you weren't paying close attention to your prey.

It is. but this is the NA server, where brawling is not the meta. Also, the ship being a brawler doesn't mean that you have to steam straight into a group of enemies at battle start. You have to choose your moment.

 

And, what do you do until that moment comes? Not shoot at ships because 'she's not a sniper'?

I'm no supertester obviously, but I'm not sure what you're driving at here. That's true for any ship in the game (debatable for DD's imo, but applies to CA's and BB's) that AP is going to do the real damage. However, the smaller guns that have less pen potential that you have to alternate between  HE and AP seems to suit cruisers players as that is generally what you do anyways.

So she can't bow-tank like initially believed, which is a shame as it could have helped with letting her get in close and get personal, but not a dealbreaker.  Nevertheless, I'm still buying her; being a cruiser (and even DD) bully would be fun.  And the option to switch between HE and AP rather quickly for a battleship is also pretty helpful.

I know, I didn't say the girl couldn't shoot at ships even not being a sniper... Thinking about it, she is just a superversatile little ship. Respectable AA,  balanced guns, quite a bit of armor, speed... Hawt damn. But what can I do, no money to buy anything at this point in time... :/
