Another Izumo advise topic

Hey, folks! So I got Izumo over the weekend, and things are less than spectacular. Now before anyone says "search is OP" I've read every Izumo tips topic back to December but I still have a couple of questions so humor me, please. 

 

Based on what I've read, I've traded out my secondaries range module for extra accuracy and I'm going to hang back more and bow-on only. I've got that, and was definitely doing that wrong last night. My question, however, mostly has to do with AA. I've heard that Izumo AA can be brutal in Hull C if you spec and use the module for it, but I haven't seen that stated here so I'm not sure how true it is. I'm told it can guard itself from torp runs well if AA is focused on like this. I've also heard you almost never see CVs in top tier, but I've been seeing a lot more CVs myself lately so I don't know if that's true anymore.

 

So that's my first question. AA spec and module or keep the primary gun accuracy module? Spotter plane or float plane fighter? I suspect if I'm hanging back I'm going to attract a lot of bombers.

 

Second, a question about accuracy. I've heard a lot of people tell me Izumo has really good ballistics, but I feel like her accuracy is well below Amagi and Tirpitz. Aiming for engine room citadels at long range, I usually have my shells land along the length of the target BB in Amagi and Tirpitz. In Izumo, I've frequently had shells land along the ship and behind it and ahead of it, so the max possible spread seems a lot worse. Am I just getting unlucky or have others seen this too? Do you think the accuracy module I just switched to last night will make that big of a difference? 

 

And now a disclaimer... I perform very well in Tirpitz and Amagi (and most other IJN BBs) but I've never played USN BBs and this is my first Tier 9 ship, so when giving tips please keep this in mind. I'm not familiar with the T9+ meta, and have no experience in USN BBs so "play like Iowa" is not going to mean much to me.

I had the C Hull on the Izumo. It was adequate, but u still will get focused by CV's. BB curse.  Definitely stick with the accuracy upgrade. You will notice the difference. Spotter plane is more useful in most games. It is strange how people gell with some ships and not others. I instantly got to grips with the aim and got a kraken in my 6th game in her. Keep at it. Go bow on and just get a feel for the guns. I had a 65% win rate in her and now on the Yamato I think I am just below 40%. Crazy. The Izumo remains my favorite BB, until I figure out the Yamato (hopefully).
