Someone mentioned how crazy people in the WoT forums were getting over the new Five Strikes enforcement so I went to see if it was really true. Then I saw this announcement involving FACEIT posted here. SPG are not allowed :-) for many reasons probably - one player said in his opinion that would be due to the RNG factor :-) I think they just wanted to play tanks without worrying about some SPG round ruining the match. In any case... I wonder if they have plans to do the same with WoWS NA one day?

I don't like the idea of team and competitive play being externally organized, because I have a lot more trust in WGNA's motives and balance perspective than I do in any given third party. But if it exposes Warships to a wider audience, that would be worthwhile.

The ROF was too slow to keep up, and taking a gun and hull off the firing line turned the match into a 6v7 fight.

However, even the WG competitions distort game play. The scalp hunting competitions in particular. "You stole my kill!" Somebody call the Whaaambulance! And why is our only DD off chasing unicorns and the CV instead of doing his job? For that matter, why are there so many DDs all of a sudden? And all this for a Mikasa? What a crap ship! It's good for earning Close Qtrs Expert flags and not much else.
3,999 [V_KNG] Herr_Reitz Beta Testers 13,205 posts Report post #6 Posted August 8, 2016 Well I peeked a bit at the WOT stuff they have for "points"... if you wrack up a few thousand you can get some in-game vehicles. They have WG's blessing(s) it seems... so competition is competition. It gets the name out and expands the player base for (likely) a lot less effort on WG's part. No stupid TKing or even friendly fire. No trolls in the chat box as everything outside of mic-chat is preset phrases.
