What other games have the same requirements as wows?

I am still testing to find out what is causing wows to lock up since 5.9 dropped.

My system ran wows just fine starting back during the beta weekends til 5.8. Once 5.9 went live, wows started locking up often.

So, any ideas as to what other games have similar requirements?

The context in which you're asking this question is confusing. Are you snarkily implying you're seeking a replacement for WoWS? Are you implying that a game on a different engine but with similar requirements is somehow helpful to troubleshooting endeavours? Perhaps there is some other inference I'm supposed to have drawn?

I just need to test my system on a similar game. If that game runs fine, then there's something wrong here with 5.9.

Right now, if I load wot, it causes my video driver to crash thus causing wot to close.

Don't want a replacement as I want to keep playing wows. But can't because of the 5.9 patch.

I see. It's difficult to find a game that you know is exercising your hardware in the same way, unless it's the same engine. If WoT is out, you may want to have a look at this list of BigWorld games.

Well, I went back to an older driver from June of 2015. Still crashed BUT, it was due to the display driver crashing.

If I can resolve the driver crashes, I may just resolve the game crashes.

obligatory request that you post system specs

obligatory request that you left out the important bits

Everyone should know what the requirements are for this game. So there should be no need for me to post them.

Unless you're referring to my edit regarding the driver crashing. AMD HD 6970. Game ran fine from the beta weekends til 5.8. After 5.9 dropped, it went to hell.

Crimson driver known issues: A few game titles may fail to launch or crash if the Gaming Evolved overlay is enabled. A temporary workaround is to disable the AMD Gaming Evolved "In Game Overlay"

Okay so you have a couple things happening here.

You're blaming the WoWS patch on your gaming experience, yet you have an issue playing another big world game.   Have you tried World of Warplanes?

If you are having a driver crash, one that is, "The display driver stopped working and has recovered.."  ... you could have some other things going on in your system.   The display driver crashing is likely NOT related to the game itself. I had that error not long ago, and it would do it simply by running Chrome.  (Although I am nVidia).

I would firstly run DDU (driver uninstall) and reinstall everything fresh (latest drivers)  Since you are a 6XXX series AMD card, there isn't too much new in that regard.

If you continue to get the display driver not working error, if that is what it is, I'd check your RAM and your PAGEFILE uses.  You can find some articles surrounding this by searching google.

Since 5.9 went live, I have tried the Crimson drivers, the last official drivers & drivers from June of 2015. I don't use Gaming Evolved.

I blame the patch as that is when all this started happening.

As I stated prior, the game was fine from the beta weekends until 5.9 went live. I had no real issues in that time.

I have done several fresh driver installs and used AMD's own cleaning utility. RAM passes it's test and I can run Furmark on the gpu without issues as well.

Since this is a fresh install of Win10 as of last weekend, the pagefile is default.

Wot is doing it as that install is using the HD content. Have not tried with the SD content.

There isn't a balloon saying "driver crashed & recovered", it's just that yellow triangle with the !  inside it on the taskbar that has no info when hovering over it.

The game locks up when this happens

Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

I had this same driver problem with win10 however was nVidia driver but the issue is not AMD/nVidia specific.   I'm not sure what triggered it, and it has gone away for me now but have subsequently updated to a BETA driver for the new 10 Series cards.

I honestly don't know if it's WoWS or something that changed within WN10 in an update that caused this for me.  I had it with WG products as well as just within Chrome while watching youtube.

There are a couple things you can try, one is a registry edit that extends the time windows waits for the driver to respond in the Timeout detection, another is to manually edit your pagefile uses.

I would say both those changes helped me a little bit, but not totally.   The two things that helped for me was changing my RAM speed settings in the BIOS, and the newest nVidia driver..

I already added a TdrDelay to the graphics driver reg settings.

I have not touched the pagefile since reinstalling the OS. But what do you mean by editing it's uses? Or did you mean usage as in change it's size?

Yes manually adjusting it's values instead of allowing windows to do it on it's own.

There was actually a huge thread about this on the nvidia site where there were a number of good tips to troubleshoot this problem, if I can find it again I will post it here..  it is a really, really annoying problem to find the source of.

I would also add I had some friends from WoT have a similar issue and they solved it by updating Flash and Shockwave.. I did that too..

I actually just installed Adobe flash this week. Shockwave, no use for it.

System has 8GBs of RAM & Win10 is on a SSD. Does it still need a pagefile for that drive?

UPDATE: I seem to have resolved the original crashes.

But now I am getting the following which causes wows to freeze.

"Application WorldOfWarship has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware."

Any ideas on a fix?
