Man, I wish more players would use the map.

Just like in WoT, it seems the map is a hack very few like to use. From anything like the single guy who goes one way only to run into their fleet, to the team who picks a direction and never changes. 

 

Don't get me wrong, I like when a team works together. About 50% of the time the lemming push works in this game. But the other 50% when the other team is flanking us, and the lemming have no clue what's going on because the map is off. That 50% is extremely frustrating. When you turn to defend, and are joined by maybe 1-2 other ships, as you watch 10 other sail cluelessly into nothing. You might take out a couple ships with your very small fleet, but without the lemmings covering you, you get smashed. 

 

Is there any way to get more players to use the map? It should be something that cannot be turned off.

Maybe it should be at max zoom by default so it takes up a third of the screen, and people have to acknowledge it so they can shrink it down and see what they're doing.

Was doing great today until I read your post.

Just lost a battle where all of our BB's were going to the opposite corner of the map from the enemies. It was magical how quickly the enemy team decimated the rest of us./

It's not about the map, it's the "not my problem" attitude. Enemies taking the cap? Threatening the carrier? DDs charging a friendly BB? Whatever, someone else will handle it.

Or how about the times as a BB player you charge into the enemies to engage, and look at you map to see your team turning to run away...That's always fun in a 20kts BB.
