i wonder why we cant shoot their gun individually instead of by turret group, its not far fetch and you can keep the volley fire

 

as far as i know it wasnt uncommon for crapto shoot their multiple gun turret one barrel at the time for better control and range finding

 

 

almost every ship could benefit from braking grouped gun into single barrel  and bring more control over your fire power and add ( optionnally ) more dept into the precision calculation

( and less frustration with the dispersion maybe )

 

what do you guys think ?

That's what they did in Battlestations Pacific.  There was no volley fire, so it would take ages to cycles through all your barrels since they all fired one-by-one independently, including the secondaries.  To demonstrate:

While this would makes ships more interesting to look at since there is no downtime between shots, you'd also deal less damage through this method since it has to be pulsed out slowly, and it's rather hard to ambush another ship with the whole fireworks display.  Plus, you'll be bombarded with a lot more sound-effects if you have all the guns go off one by one.

i know of battlestation pacific but the most main gun a ship will have is about 12 so if you want to shoot one at the time thats only 12 click or double for the broadside

 

im not agaisnt the broadside just divide the turret per turret system into gun per gun :hmm:

But when you think of it, the Mogami will need 15 separate barrel status markers on the UI to indicate which is loaded, reloading, damaged, or destroyed, which would clutter up the screen quite a bit.  I know it's possible since Battlestations stuck the UI for the guns on the targeting retical, but this game puts it on the bottom of the screen, and having 6 turret UI already takes up a decent amount of space on the screen.

Oh yeah...it's been awhile.  I don't think I've sailed a St. Louis in 10 months.
