Fixing the issues with the IJN destroyers

Hey all so i was looking through the japanese destroyer tech tree and i feel like i have worked out something that will definitely help with IJN destroyers in succeeding a little more. Have hull c the one that normally removes gun turret and aa to be put as an optional extra. Then give them a draw card like slightly longer range torps or faster and deal a bit more damage. Then have hull b be given better guns so you can play as either a gunboat or a torpboat. I feel like this could seriously help in giving IJN captains a bit more to play with. They removed the kitakami cause it was a one trick pony and could easily team kill. Well thats what the Japanese destroyers have become so lets add a little kick to the game for destroyer captains

The C hull is already optional. You still have to research it, but you are by no means forced to use it.

Not really an issue, IJN DD's aren't "supposed" to be gun boats. Their turrets are usually too slow for knife fighting. The higher tier IJN DD's get everything they need before the AA hull "upgrade", so it's safe to research and not buy that hull upgrade.

 

I'm not gonna say that I haven't used my Fubuki and Kagero as guns boats on a surprising number of occasions, they both have more guns kills than torp kills as it turns out for me. (I use the faster and shorter ranged torps usually)
